  1. Mate every car is lacquered otherwise it would look dull and wouldn't polish up or wax. your sig pic is shiney, that clear shine on your car is lacquer, and thats what gives the paint its protection, otherwise the daily elements would make your car rust like crazy. 2nd if your gonna respray your car a completely different colour, unless you plan on stripping the engine bay and all of the interior and doing the full works its pointless, because as soon as you open your bonnet or doors it will still be red and imo look stupid.
  2. I remember the very first day I got my old car back from a full respray, I came back to it after work and it was just like that.
  3. Thanks for all the feedback, all top notch advice ( as expected ) Ultimately I would love to go around Silverstone, but it may be a bit too big a track for a first time so might be better to get some experience on some smaller tracks first. Perhaps Silverstone would be a great one to book up for a club event? So just Celicas are there for the day Kev that sounds like it could be a good day out, although being compared against porsche times might be a bit shameful, espescially as my car is currently completely stock too lol. Are you recommending 40 viscosity oil just for track racing purposes or do you mean in general?
  4. I have never drove a track day before, I have been to them and photographed them but have never drove my car on one and its something that I now really want to do. So I'm after some advice on how to go about it, for example: Does the car need a good service both before and after being tracked ( as its been pushed for longer periods of time ) Do you need to buy track tyres to go on the track? I'm guessing you will need a seperate track insurance, how much should you expect to pay for it? And if there is anything else worth knowing.... please post and advise. Also if you have done more than one track in the past whats your favourite and the reasons for it.
  5. I have to say I do think its funny how people think the 7 is slow, I mean yea the 140 maybe, but the 190 certainly isn't bad for a N/A 1.8, your all trying to compare them to cars with a bigger engine and a snail on the end, I mean I have held a focus St, audi tt ( not the quattro obviously) and a fair few other cars that are relatively quick in straight line so there not bad at all. It doesn't compare to the class of car as a scooby, evo or anything like that, but it was never meant to. Its like anything, once you have had the power for so long it then doesn't seem powerful anymore because your so used to it. But when you do want that kind of power at least we have a corporate member on here who can give it to you guaranteed if you still want the looks of the seven.
  6. Think of it like this 4k - supercharged 7, outperform alot of other cars and still looks good. 15k- newer car, more in debt, other people probably have one the same spec and isn't any quicker. If the only reason your bored of the 7 is power I know the option I would take from the above. And if you get that power would you really want to sell it on later down the line?
  7. Just work and back around 60 miles, but when I wanna go other places probably around 100.
  8. Where did you get that one GR, I want one of those now lol
  9. Love that made in Japan refined in the UK sticker lol. I dont mind them, had some on my old car, but I think I will only have them under the engine bay on this car when I do ( prefer the clean look on the exterior )
  10. Theres a big thread on this in the Gen 7 section, search for the member Felfy and look for his guide, should sort all your problems out
  11. perhaps we should all put some in together to buy it for the club, and then get moulds made for everyone
  12. I think your made of money lol.... you've bought something new and fairly expensive every week since the last meet
  13. "Toodles off to the site to investigate whats expensive".... lol
  14. Haha, I didn't think it would be too appropriate as one of my first posts on the forum lol. Did make me laugh though, and still does tbh
  15. Thanks mate, glad your happy with them. And yea that pic was taken over a few seconds, pretty cool effect though I think Heres one more I forgot to add ... So if you guys want any in high res just send me a PM with your email address. Also if you want them do you mind me having my signature on them or would you want it removing?
  16. Heres the rest of the best ones, and the last pic I got lazy so left it as it was
  17. Being as I have never driven either I can't really make a valid opinion to this particular subject, but straight line acceleration I dont believe there would be much between the 140 and the st, but I imagine the gearing on the st would be better, so on B roads would probably have an advantage. I know they wouldn't hold a 190 in a straight line, I had a play with a focus ST just the other day and we were pretty much level, so theres no way a fiesta st would keep up. If it does keep up then it definitely is not standard.
  18. Gutted for you mate..... at least you can remember some of the fun times you have had in it, and just let me know if you want any of the high res pictures from the other night (I'm still finishing some of them) Being as this is a pass time car I think you have probably made a good decision. Chilli red T sport defo will be a good decision!!! I know.... I've got one
  19. Thanks mate, glad you like them Maybe a couple of them will make it to next years calendar, as I say there are still more pics to come yet.... I just havent finished them. Booth I can send ya the full res pics if ya want...... although you may want to wait till I have done the rest and then I can send all the ones you want in one email? Yea totally agree with you lol, our cars have been a little left out, I just figure I can photograph mine anytime though so I dont mind Thanks mate.... kind words like these make it worth doing Keep ya eyes peeled, I will have the rest uploaded within a couple of days...
