  1. Damn! They don't do them with the right offset, just 32 which would probably stick-out too far. How about Gunmetal with a silver car? Any comments welcome:
  2. Yeah, I know I know, it's all been discussed before. The thing is, driving home on Saturday night late I hit a large brick some tosser had chucked in the road, which broke one of my Lenso Reizen wheels and ruined a tyre... I need my car and I need to replace the wheels before the weekend as my Celica is my only transport (other than my bike and that's in for rebuilding). So I've found a rather tasty set of Dotz GTR 18" wheels with tyres for a bargain price of £625 here http://www.madmotors.co.uk/special-dotz-gtr-silver-18-alloy-wheels-and-tyres.html In previous discussions the comment has been 18" looks good but handles like shit, but talking to Julian (Spree of Spree LED fame) he has 18" wheels on his GT4 and reckons they're fine, so I'm seriously considering getting some of thes 18" jobbies. Any/all opinions welcome! Also, what size tyres are going to be best? The seller offers 215/35/18 tyres with additional upgrades to 225/40/18 tyres for £15 and to 235/40/18 tyres for £25. As I said, comments welcomed!
  3. HMRC are aware of that little ploy, and have their own sources of what is the true value of anything imported. If they think you're taking the piss they'll be down on you like a ton of bricks, and you'll have to pay the real duty plus a pretty high fine.
  4. If any child car seat conforms to ECE R44.03 and R44.04 it is perfectly safe to use... any extra cost you might pay will be for eye-candy only. So it's perfectly safe to buy the cheapest seat you can find which conforms to the regs.
  5. What's ugly about this? I've never thought the Gen 6 front end is ugly (otherwise I wouldn't have bought two of them!)
  6. OK, a noob type question, forgive me but I've never driven a Gen 7. All this talk about lift and lift bolts, what exactly is it, how does it work and what does it do?
  7. Beauty is all in the eye of the beholder, which explains why Charles Windsor is now married to a horse.
  8. LOL, not taking offence at all. Actually with my current car being a Vert I would expect mpg to go down, as I have the top down whenever I can, which rather f*cks up the aerodynamics.
  9. And it's done 140,000 miles, wouldn't the death rattle have become apparent long before it reached this sort of mileage?
  10. Hardly likely to be weather-related, this is my third year of Gen 6 GT ownership, and my car is my only transport for business. As I am a freelance IT tech serving SME's in the Oxon/Berks/Bucks area my mileage is always high, but that's reflected in my hourly rate.
  11. OK, so for those of us thick enough to have missed the point, perhaps you'd care to explain? Oh, and while you're at it, you still haven't explained where you got the "£50 per can" thing.
  12. Well, perhaps someone can explain why my Gen 6 GT Vert has changed from averaging 320 - 340 miles from brimful to low-fuel light flickering (measured regularly over 8 months) to now doing anything from 360-370 miles from brimful to low-fuel light flickering during 7 fillups since I used BG44K. And it doesn't cost £50 per can, God knows where you got that figure, mine was just over £23/can. And I'm doing 500+ miles every week, so I think I am able to tell the difference in mpg. Maybe you should try it and apply your own "objectivity" before telling those of us who rack up the mileage on a regular basis that we don't know what we're talking about.
  13. No, it's quite different. Yes, it cleans injectors but it also clears carbon deposits from plugs, pistons etc. This will tell you what and how: http://www.powerenhancer.co.uk/news/bg-44k-for-petrol/30/
  14. The front is clear but there is an orange filter built in, but I see what you mean. Appologees...
  15. Mine didn't. I bought my clear indicators from Cryselco, as here: And here's the original as originally fitted:
  16. On the bay (not mine) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Celica-94-99-clear-front-indicators-/120725071085?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1bc664ed 99p at the moment
  17. Watching this with interest, I'll be doing mine later this year. Can't decide on silver (to match my car), blue or red.
  18. Hmm, a 28-years old male?
  19. <shock horror> I don't need to check mine between services... never needed to, the oil level every 6000 miles has so far always been OK. I do the occasional dip, but I've never needed to top-up, either on my latest or my past Gen 6 GT.
  20. Cheers, mate. That link leads to some odd site, no mention of fish tank filter sponge...
  21. What's the best way of cleaning a convertible hood? Just plain soap and water, or is there something better?
