This is the best I can do
Time: 8am yesterday- Location: Nantwich town centre- Velocity: Just stopped at a set of lights
Poor picture, but is it any good?
-
For clarification, change, pedanticism etc,
Sorry, but I think you'll find it's pedantry, not pedanticism
-
As long as the wheels are turning
Clarification needed please!
From a previous clarification by yourself "Just to clarify. For safety and remaining within the law.
From inside the car. Not neccessarily moving unless the passenger takes it. Passing = stopped for the driver."
So are we moving (wheels turning) or are we stationary (stopped for the driver)
Yours pendantically, Ian

The limitations of a phone camera in the pi88ing rain when you forget to take the DSLR with you
Anyway the Gen 7 headlights are unmistakable.
This wasn't my challenge but I think that fits the bill.
If everyone else is OK with this, set a new challenge and the thread is up and moving again
-
funny in your own little world Bill
Well, I also found it rather funny and quick, so less of the backchat and get yer camera out
-
Thought I should put this one to bed before people take their decorations down next week
This one OK for you all
Looks good to me, next challenge please.
BTW who's that in the window? :xmas_unsure:
-
Do big W stores count?
As long as they're still part of the Woolworths group, why not ?
-
OOOPS, I will try and do it today. The problem I realised is that our branch is in the middle of a high street where no cars are allowed until a certain time, watch this space,, - it will be worth it.
Tease !
-
misterC, top photo, definatly acceptable.
Right then, your Celica next to a branch of Woolworths, brownie points if it's got a closing down sale sign in the window
Snap a piece of High Street history before they all disappear.
-
Next challenge, a celica with it's twin, same colour and generation, ideally without crossing convertables, GT4s and pre/post facelift models, but that's relaxable if it's too hard.OK so, the new challenge is "Your car with it's twin" please can it be a NEW photo.
Apologies it's not a NEW photo, but two identical Sunchasers together is a rare shot at any time
Selkirk Rally 2006 when I drove MR X up to Scotland for the opportunity to have a snap with Debbie Wade's Sunchaser.
Let me know if this is acceptable and I'll set a new challenge.
-
How did you manage that then Angus?
More to the point, why were you carrying a model of a Celica with you?
-
Shite - I thought it was still multiple police cars ... I spent most of today being driven about in the BMW on the right. Haven't had so much fun in ages.
Angus
Well I'm quite happy for Angus to set a new challenge and keep this moving.
It seems the least we can do after all the trouble he seems to have been in with the law today
-
On our way up to Stoke we had a little ride around and found a nice hill, at the bottom of the hill was a pub!!
In a village called Kiverton (I think)
If acceptable the next challenge is your Celica next to a Farm Shop.
More than acceptable !
Farm shop it is then, boys and girls.
-
Time for a change of plan?
Angus
Point taken, it seems that this thread has hit one of the quiet spots again.
NEW CHALLENGE:-
Your Celica outside a pub/restaurant advertising Christmas Day Specials, you know the type "Book early to avoid disappointment" etc. etc.
-
Strange - did you build a chippy in the garden, then?
Angus
No, the council wouldn't let us with having the Chinese takeaway at the bottom of the garden (red sign in the background)
so we had to build the chippy at the front of the house
-
Next -your Celica outside a kebab shop.
Angus
Not strictly a kebab shop, but the local chippie with a special line in kebabs according to his sign.
If acceptable, next challenge is your Celica (or the bloke down the road, Angus) next to a 1970's/1980's Ford car/van (I like this kind of challenge as it brings out some interesting old motors )
-
This is not mine but it was my dads about 25 years ago does that count??
http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn289/a...home1980001.jpg
The celica is top right of the photo
Well as photos go, that's a cracker - a bloke with as much crap on his drive deserves to win 25 years later or not!
And I set the challenge, so it's OK by me.
Next challenge please
-
There's a mint beige Marina goes about in Fraserburgh ... all I have to do is find it and get the old codger to park next to the guy along the road's Gen 7 now ...
<edit> Come to think of it, there's another old guy goes about in a brown Austin Maxi too.
Angus
And especially for Angus as a stalwart of this particular topic, I am prepared to amend the challenge to "Your (or the guy along the road's Gen 7) Celica next to a 1970's/1980's British Leyland car/van
-
See, they are still out there
And don't forget I said 1980's as well, so a lot of beige pensioner material to go for.....Maestro's, Montego's, Triumph Acclaim, Metro's, Ambassador, Ital, and don't forget Sherpa vans and their later Freight Rover offshoots.
Get snapping people and remember it's tat like this that made the Japanese car industry what it is today
-
OK, your Celica with three (full-size) footballs and a potted plant on the roof
The dog thought I was being a little odd putting a cactus plant and three of his footballs on the car roof at 11 0'clock at night
but that's the madness of the Celica Photo Challenge.
Next, your Celica next to a 1970's/1980's British Leyland car (Allegro, Marina, MGB, Princess, TR7 etc) but not a Mini 'cos that was my last challenge
(It appears I'm going through a BL phase at the moment
-
Ahh, there they are, they were in the garden all the time
Next challenge is your Celica next to a Mini ( either BL Mini or BMW Mini acceptable)
-
Not sure if those meet the 350bhp requirement, but probably ...
Can no-one get a pic of a car, then? Might be time to change the challenge?
Angus
Very familiar indeed !!!
But no rules about using the same pic twice AFAIK
Reuse and recycle indeed
Now where's my wellies
-
I think that should count - those cars are rare as an addict with veins..
Didn't the headlights point with the steering?
Original challenge now modified and the winner is...................Angus!
From memory the main beams on the DS pointed with the steering, or was that the later SM ?? (or indeed both !!)
Next challenge please Angus.
-
Next challenge, very random and obscure.........................
Your Celica next to a Citroen 2CV or a Citroen Dyane ! (or indeed any silly Citroen!)
Celica photo challenge.

Best I could do
Err no, MR X is back in service as a 50-mile-a-day commuter for a while, anyway we're too posh to have shops where we live
Does this count?
Fellow TEC member Tony's early Landcruiser, definitely not a car in my opinion
