  1. There is a company on ebay that do replacement seat covers, as in remove original and then re-trim but I think they only do leather.

You could get yours refurbished or reupholstered, but prices on gen 7 seats are pretty cheap, you could buy seats to replace them.

Ross, you mean display name or login name, you should be able to change display name yourself but if you want to change login an admin will need to do that for you, pm me and I will help you ;)

  2. 1st thing to say is if you have had a 182 then going to the 185 is a definate step in the right direction :)

The main prob with st185's is engines, it is v v unlikely to find one that hasnt been modified at some point in its life, even if you buy a standard one - one of its previous owners would probably have run it over standard boost and 99% of owners turn the boost up above safe levels and blow the headgasket and now due to age rust will be an issue but that will apply to most cars of that age, but you can give a car a good check over and test drive and still end up buying one with hg failure! Symptoms can be hidden, and then you would soon find out, all you can do as with any car is give it a good check over and hope you get one thats ok.

They are a great car and fun to drive, just make sure you have funds handy for anything that goes wrong, even if you get one that needs a hg at some point you can choose different options on how to sort it depending on budget.

  3. My car didn't have a spare in it when I bought it, and it didn't bother me because even if it did i can't put it on as the rolling radius/size would be different to the alloys that are on the car.

But I am thinking of buying the space saver wheel the car should have with it (in case of any legal problems)

  4. I did say I was only joking when I said it!!

There are places in N'pton you can have it done, but if you prefer to diy then guess its all about the kit.

You can get a decent engine bay cleaner from halfords etc..

But as long as it's done properly they shouldnt need to cover electrics as its steam, but if your diy probably worth covering them just to be safe!

  5. I first met Perry at Japfest 2005, and as we were chatting I realised he lived close by and we had long discussions that day about his GT-Four he was modifying and i wanted to see it.

As I have owned GT-Fours and was interested what could be done to them, his mods and enthusiasm was inspiring and infectous and led to me modifying my car at the time.

The numerous times i went over to his house just to chat with him and watch him at work, what he could do with a dremmel and fibreglass i couldn't help thinking 'amazing', he would get new parts and then cut them and redesign them how he wanted them!!

Made numerous bespoke parts/modifications and they fitted perfectly (his dashboard mods were very impressive), some people didn't like some of the mods that he did, but always respected how much detail and effort went in to them regardless (and he didn't care if you liked them anyway!) but despite that he had whole topics discussing his car and asking for opinions anway.

He really was a wiz with modifying and all I can do is echo people's comments in this topic, and say that you will be missed mate, and it's a very sad loss to all who knew/met you and my best wishes go to Carol and family.

A 'before' pic of his GT-Four:

  6. Well now i seem to have her running right its time to change fillters and plugs.

    BUT WHAT PLUGS :?:  :?:  :?

Been thinking about NGK iridium ones but someone has told me that if its not putting out 300 bhp+ then they will make it worse than normal ones.(I think its  :) )

So who better to ask than the people who have used them (i hope  )

Yep go for ngk iridium mate...its what's in mine and they are fine, and lead wise magnecor seem to be the ones to go for, but they are ££££'s

p.s what wheels were on your car before you bought mine, and have you still got them?
