I wouldn't buy it myself but I think the main reason people don't like it is because it's a replica but if you just look at it as a car then it's not too bad. It's not the best car I've ever seen I'll give you that but it's not the worst. -

I don't think it looks that bad, still looks better than celica's with strips down them or pretend carbon fibre. -
I always buy private as it's cheaper. Just give the car a good look over, you could always ask a local garage to look it over if your not confident.

Have you not thought it might all be in your head. I tend to buy the cheap tyres or gets sets of 2nd hand wheels with tyres. I just don't get these grip problems people keep coming up with. -

You can check the old mot online if you have the paperwork as it will ask for a number which I think is either on the v5 or mot slip.
