Hi guys.
I've actually been a member for many years now, although not posted here for a long time!
I bought my '95 Gen 6 GT back in 2009 and instantly fell in love with it! To be honest, its been pretty easy going considering the car is so old - with mostly trouble free motoring, never breaking down & always starting first time. Toyota certainly know how to build cars!
Sadly, just after christmas, 100 miles from home, my 5th gear disintegrated on the motorway. After a loooong cruise home in 4th gear I decided it wasn't worth getting the car fixed as the repair costs would come to more than the value of the car.
While i've been on the look out for a new motor, i've still been driving the celica every day and its making some god awful noises! But again, massive respect for Toyota, even their broken cars still work!
Anyway...to the point.
I'm picking up my new car tomorrow (Mazda 3 saloon 1.6 if your interested! Not that exciting but will save me a fortune on my daily commute), and i need to get rid of my beloved Celica.
Now obviously I cant sell it as a usable car, but how do you think i could maximize any of the remaining value? Sell to breaker perhaps? Anyone know anyone breaking gen 6's who might be interested?
Scrappage companies perhaps?
I'm based in north west London if that makes any difference? Any help or advice would be gratefully welcomed!
Thanks,
Chris.
