More modern car and I'd have bought one when they came out had the rear seats been usable and bit bit more oomph from the engine. Wheels and spoiler are marmite. It handled well enough on its skinny Prius tyres. Been up against a couple on track. Found them a little faster at the end of the straights but my handling still had it though the complexes. A lot of deals around on them now as they have not sold as many as Toyota wanted.

is that meant to read as 8l or 4l ???
Hi Brian,
Eight (8) lt as in 2 x 4 lt cans.

Sorry to always ask you questions David, but that's interesting when people are going for the expensive stuff from Opie - do you notice a difference with that Halfords oil to stuff like Fusch/Silkolene type things?
Tbh this will be the first time in 6 years I've never used 0W40 Mobil 1.
I change my oil every 4k and I'm sure the halfords will be perfectly safe for my overworked engine.

Offer just started today and I picked up 8 lt 5W40 fully synth on my trade card for £22.

How much are TRD pads David, assuming I don't have to factor in air fare to usa?
Ian, £166.80 for the Red version in the UK from the main importer and distributor Fensport. For me when I'm across in Texas, any Toyota Dealership that sells TRD accessories, £60.

All ok so far,my cars not a daily so itll take longer to put the miles on in the bedding in process for me,but i've racked up a good few miles so far and all is good, the Ferodo pads particularly dont shed as much dust as the Pagid ones i had previously.Car feels good and pulls up well with minimal effort,so the only test really is the longevity of the MTEC discs as to warping over time etc.
There's no reason to worry about warping and wear is about normal. I'm on my third set now and they have all been well punished on track running at temps up to 400 degC at the front. I use the grooves as wear indicators and when they get low change out for a new set. Each set has averaged about 6000 roads miles and 6 track days. Never had any glazing problems and matched with TRD pads never any fade.

What make of tyre is it?

Nice picture Matt so that will do.
All the way from Florida as well. Clever.

thanks for the warning kev, i wont be going with toyos next time i need rubber.
if they are less grippy does that mean longer lifespan?
Usually.
If you look on the sidewall you will see a tread wear rating. The higher the number the longer the lifespan the less grip in the dry. This number is not related to how good the tyre is in the wet.
Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy MKII are rated 300
Nankang NS2-R Semi Slick soft compound road legal are rated 120

Acetone, borrow from wife, partner, girl friend. It's what they use to remove nail varnish.
Back to Black and Ice from Halfords.

TyreFactors are worth looking at.

If that was actually true Trading Standards would go livid. Anyway the tanker driver is talking shit. There is only one main distribution site in Scotland, Grangemouth, and fuel companies use each others tankers especially to outlying areas. Tesco don't make fuel and only buy on the open markets. Their 99 is the minimum spec they they use and basically it is EU imported into SE England Thames storage facilities. They also buy from Shell and BP and in fact some of the 99 sold by TESCO outwith main population areas is really SHELL / BP. What you bought was genuine Shell V-Power sold to Tesco at market rates from Scottish distribution.

I have the grooved and rate them very highly. They stand up to all the track punishment I throw at them far better than anything EBC can make. On my third full set now over three seasons but I change them out annually as a routine service item for the beginning of each season. Iv'd used one set of EBC Yellows with them but don't like these pads but with my normal TRD pads brake control and feeling is very good.

This subject has been done to death so many times now but yes V-Power Nitro + is better for your engine. Will not give you more power but will burn better, run smoother and keep the internals cleaner especially with better plugs.

Best way to use mate? Can be done by hand and what with?
its like toothpaste. Put it on an old brush, work it in and rub off with kitchen paper towel.

water with a little grit
That's wrong Ian as should be 3 in One with sawdust.
celica GT vs GT86
in General Celica Discussion

Because they were originally fitted with the very same EOM tyres as fitted to the Prius.
The standard tyres are 215/45R17 87W Michelin Pilot Primacy. These are primarily designed as a low resistance tyre for increased MPG but Toyota knew that because of the tyres characteristics, low resistance tyres can be forced to brake away and drift hence putting more fun factor into the GT86.
