  1. Are there any meters available for the celica that can monitor mpg based on the current driving? Autometer in the US does this using the OBDII port but it doesnt mention the celica in the compatibility list. Alternatively is there any apps for the android that do this even if it uses a obdii transmitter? I know the iphone has this, but is there an android version? http://www.autometer.com/ecometer/
  2. Yeah you turn left, but you are going to the right... Weirdly. If you drew an arrow round, it goes to the right? I dunno, guess thats how i look at it. Except im looking at it with one eye, so i have no idea lol
  3. Works all the way round, you are still turning to the right - i.e. clockwise whereever you are.etc. Right hand thread - so they are all opposite? :S Eye is getting better, been putting my eye ointment in 4 times a day! Got the brakes all done today finally as well. The pins are all refurbed and the dust discs painted red along with a fresh coat for the calipers and brake hub. Also got my spark plugs in as well. Service complete! Car feels better and brakes are better as well.
  4. True, plus my boot build is in the way of the light... Not a bad idea!
  5. Ha im ok doing it, i just make silly mistakes like no googles or not checking the box before i start lol. I even had your pictures you gave me on me on phone as i went along trying to find that cog thing with the led on the back of my phone lol. its ok now, feels weird - still reckon the crap is in there
  6. Ok so after last week where i managed to sheer off the caliper slide pin holders off the calipers, i ordered a replacement off ams. Went to go fit this today but i needed red caliper paint so off into town i went. Trip 1. - Caliper Paint (Engine Lacquer - Red), Brush Came back, car jacked up - wheel off, then had numerous problems. Couldnt get the caliper front half off at all. So back into town to get decent tools. Trip 2. - Nowhere had a short enough breaker bar, so got a adjustable wrench and rubbet mallet from homebase. Wrench was useless, but the mallet aided the ratchet quite well. Turns out righty tighty doesnt apply on this side of the car - going to the right got the bolt off, that was my first error. So caliper half off, one pin comes out with it - the other remained in the caliper and thus held the pads/shims. Finally i get it out. Then i manage to adjust the disc and get it off. Disc replaced and the rear dust cover painted red along with the caliper and disc hub part. This was after using a wire brush to get the crap off... At this point i noticed i had something in my eye - proper annoying as well. Tried rubbing it, washing it, rubbing it again - going under a tap and nothing for 30 mins. To make matters worse, i open up the pad box thinking they were rear pads and no they are only front ones! Trip 3. - Needed pads, and it was 1630. Off to the factors again, pads bought. Then off to the local A&E/Minor Injuries. Turned out it wasnt a pathetic thing to go for, metal in the eye can be serious lol. So in i go, eye examined and then cotton buds under my eyelids. Still there. Orange dye in my eye and then blue light to detect bits/cuts - nothing. Then she got a drip full of saline and my eye was washed out (feels very weird). This went everywhere, but out of what was caught in the card bucket thing there was a few black pieces. Then i got local anesthetic in my eye - F*CKING stings like a bitch. Feels better. Have been given some ointment for my eye and told if its still there in 2 days, go to the Eye casualty down the road. Kinda still feels like its there as well. Still got the pads and the other side to do! So this is how not to do it. Wear goggles people! P.S. Im sick of putting wheels back on!
  7. Bloody powerful and I have no use for them!
  8. Ok this may be stupid but ill ask... I have some 12v halogen spotlights from ikea that are for under cabinet lighting. They just go into an inverter then plug. Each light has its + and - wire, can I use these in the car on a 12v feed? I.e. footwell lights?
  9. It does feel colder, it just got to 25psi and then the gauge cut out? Yeah, see liquid and the odd bubble
  10. Yeah mine likes it... ...But then she used to have a yellow nova gsi. Dont know if thats good or bad
  11. Ah fair doos, but why would it fill up and show the pressure increasing then just zero? its defo colder, plus can see bubbles in the window now
  12. Pressure was at 0, filled it up and it got to 25 and then just zeroed? Air con works but why cant I get a pressure reading? And how cold should it go? Like bloody chilly cold? Or nice cold :s
  13. Wankers. I had my car keyed, fucking sickening feeling. And then someone drove down the side of mine and drove off. Plus side - the bodyshop who is attempting to fit my greddy lip say it fits better without the bottom lip... Bonus.
  14. Ok update, he has emphasised how much this has cost him in materials... So much work, he nearly rang me yesterday to give it back. Did say he wants more, £280 just because of the amount of work and materials it has taken him. He had to strip it down and down and down and the lip still has alot of air bubbles and crap. Have no option but to let him continue with it really. He wants to finish it and get it perfect. Might be £300 all in :s
  15. Think greyracer has one of these... at least someone did this once i think. I have carbon fibre engine pieces that greyracer kindly gave me, but his engine cover obviously wouldnt fit my little 140. Got the L shape, front piece and fuse box carbon fibre covers though - very kind of him.
  16. Finally managed to get my oil plug off and got the oil out... Just found my new oil bottle is only 4L! I need 4.7 dont I? Can I run it on 4l to the local petrol station (5miles) to get more? That safe?
  17. If you have the numberplate and footage, police will be interested in that... Hit and run
  18. Ok it came from reworx in its gel coat, i then used normal white primer then used red oxide.... father in law used red oxide on the side of the celica when it got damaged, but thats metal i guess... So yeah, he agreed to do the work with the lip.etc, said it was alot of work and he doesnt usually do it cos of the amount of work involved. He gave me a week (a week ago now) but now ringing him up he said he is going to have to put it to one side and do it bit by bit because he has alot of work on this month... That sounds a bit shitty really, i am still a paying customer - just because im not having a whole car custom job doesnt matter i dont think. Either way, he said it will need more work it will need stripped down again. He also says my bumper was sprayed before as well, as his primer which keys to 99.9% of stuff apparently isnt and is reacting with it. He has had 180 grit over it and it still wont go away.etc.etc Either way, he shouldnt be able to ask for a price hike can he? I dont care how he does it, he said he would do it for £250 for the bumper/lip and scoop. Not that he has put the price up, but if he does? He has agreed to do the work, so do it?
  19. Ok so ive given my bumper off to a body shop to be sprayed up along with my reworx lip. He wasnt happy with the reworx lip (air bubbles.etc) Now I had already sprayed the lip with red oxide primer from a motor factors. He's saying his primer wont bond with and he has already tried to take it all off.etc So what the hell is wrong with that primer? Ive used it before and its fine?
  20. Easier to replace with glass, would look alot better
  21. Ah i have the multi sided ones - ill get some decent ones. Ill get a breaker bar as well Oh and i lifted mine on the metal behind the tow hook... thats ok right?
