as far as I know GT86's have 215/45 R17 tyres which is exactly the same as a Gen 7
Gen 7's (with 17" wheels), had Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico 205/45/17 88W.

With extra money coming in, my first question would be..do you have a mortgage?. If so, look to increase your monthly repayments, so it's paid off earlier.
Boring, but sensible.
As for the Celica versus GT86 question..the Gen 7 is the better looking car, and being FWD with a hatch, a better "all rounder".

Coupes are all about fashion. New car buyers have them for the aesthetics above anything else. The Gen 7, when it was announced in 1999, was considered to be very well equipped. I would have have liked to have seen a reach adjustable steering wheel, but it should be remembered that even the base model has a respectable standard spec.
ABS
EBD
Side impact airbags
Rear discs
Alarm
Immobiliser
Electric windows
Electric mirrors
Heated mirrors
Air conditioning
Remote Central/Double locking
Sony CD/Cassette/Tuner
A full list price of £16650 doesn't seem to be an extortionate figure for the list above..but how did it compare list price wise with a high spec. Gen 5 or 6?.

While we're on a related subject, I ordered three oil filters this morning (for three different cars) from CarParts4less for just £6.54. That included a Bosch filter for the 140 for £1.98.

Hi, &
Apart from the snow plough/ironing board, you have some both tasteful and expensive modifications on your T Sport.
Amit (aka AMS) may well be able to supply an undamaged pair of door cards, when you relocate the crossovers
-
Can you exactly describe the issue, John?..as someone on here may have had an identical problem.

4 M6 10mm hex head bolts.
Wouldn't normally mention, it's just that I also received 4 M6 10mm Hex head bolts yesterday...............after complaining on Monday about the slow delivery when the washers I ordered from the same place on the same day had turned up early last week.
So what do I do with 4 spare bolts?
Kev I do mind-reading and that's not nice !
Moi?...as if
You only bend over where mods are concerned

Doesn't beat my struggle to get oil down the dipstick hole.................Hey I was 17 and it was the first time I had opened the bonnet ok???

Damn it - I just paid £125 for 16litres of edge 0w30 - this afternoon
It would probably be a wild goose chase for most though, Amit..the store had just five (20 litres) of the 0W40, and just one bottle of 0W30 to clear.
-
I'll keep it simple..spend as much as you can afford when it comes to tyres
The Rainsports get good reviews on CCUK..http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s15p111647/Uniroyal_Tyres_Car_Uniroyal_RainSport3_Uniroyal_Rain_Sport_3_-_215_45_R17_91Y_XL_FR_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_C_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_72dB
215's are slightly cheaper than 205's, because it's a more common size.

My local Asda has four litres of Castrol Edge 0W40 in the clearance section for £25 (0W30 was £28).

You're not searching hard enough, Alistair.
I believe it's Darren at "Locking Vinyl" you're referring to.
I fitted a new set of OZ caps only last Friday, but I bought them on eBay for £10 delivered from Portugal.
-
Yep, 215 width. My Summer rims are 7.5J, and I run 215/40 front, 215/45 rear.
-
Probably, but too early to say for certain, Sly.

Anyone thinking of buying Toyo T1R, should be aware that they are now manufactured in Malaysia, rather than Japan. Toyo have revised the compound used , and by all accounts, they are nowhere near as grippy as the Japanese version.
-
What about buying online anybody?
Check out Amazon. I ordered two Good Year tyres at the weekend, and they arrived Tuesday morning. Only manufactured in February (week 0715), so they weren't "old stock".
Some have a further £3 discount per tyre, using the code "SUMMERTYRE".

Whats wrong with genuine Toyota ones lol. Surely cheaper aftermarket ones just cause loads of brake squeal
The ones fitted to the Gen 7 are utter crap. The front discs lasted two years before corrosion meant they needed skimming. Even though my local Mr T offered to do this F.O.C. under warranty, I declined the offer, and had RedDot discs and pads as a replacement. Nearly nine years on, and they're still fine.
I'm having Mtec grooved rear discs with Pagid pads fitted shortly, so can't comment as to their performance as yet.
-
No mention of service history so be lucky to get 1600?
It's there if you look.
-
£56.09 delivered is a cracking price for these..I have them on the rear of my Gen 7, and they're normally around £75 each.
"Y" speed rating is higher than the "W" that Toyota fitted as OE.
PS No idea which tyre tread that pic. is of, but it's not the LE Sport.

I was trying to wash a dark blue Focus Zetec S while this stuff was coming down late yesterday afternoon, you couldn't tell I'd washed the roof when it dried.

-
Daytona, ekhm i have a feeling you'll change your gearbox oil rather soon-ish.
Unless your nice little garage can change clutch without draining gearbox
It's only 9k miles old so they are recycling it.
He's from Yorkshire

get a TSport fella!
Nooo!
There aren't all that many T Sport's around, even less if Danny gets his hands on one.

It's an age thing, gt. When you get older, you'll realise why they're called.."spoilers".
