  1. Their is a space behind where the foglight should be, and its actually marked on the dials at the back but as an import wont have been put in. Also a space for the SMT to be soldered onto the board but no SMT in place. Think the best thing to do would be to strip it down and mount the correct LEDs and see if they come on as they're supposed to. Then get the dials made accordingly

  2. Imports don't have a fog light warning symbol

So if a gen 7 is an import how does it pass the UK MOT without the fog warning lights in the center console?

.... because they don't have fog lights when they leave the factory in many cases

That's why alot of imports have ugly rear fogs hanging off brackets

Thats fair enough. But. Their is a place to solder on the LED behind the dials (their is a free space that has the solder already on it). Would this work if I soldered the SMT on?

  3. Grabbed a set of sports m dials. Was going to get mook to knock up a set pretty much exactly the same but with mph instead of KMPH.

    Anyway.

Mook was under the impression that their should be fog light warning lights for the MOT. Their certainly isn't on these though.... Also a lot of the other symbols are missing, but guess that's because the sports m doesn't have the features that the facelifts did. Here's what I mean...

As an addition their IS space for an LED behind where the fogs should go, but no LED in it. Guess it hasn't been asked before if this LED can be added in?

  4. What's wrong with cheap short shifters, they do the job!

Could be the linkage bushes that need replacing mate or the linkages themselves. Could be that the ball joint on the shifter needs greasing up or the cradle has come loose for whatever reason (doubt it though)

It could, on the other hand, be box related. Synchro might be going, does it crunch? As mentioned, could just need an oil change.

    Plethora of possibilities unfortunately.

Cheap short shifters do! But are a lot former than the standard and can be awkward to pop into gear occasionally from past eBay experience. Dtracers is meant to be best bang for buck though! But the trd smoothness is awesome. Can't compare the dtracer and this as never tried one!

  5. FFS I must learn to keep my gob shut until I have money in the bank. Already prob picking up a set of skirts I hadn't budgeted for this weekend. I shouldn't be so scared of missing a bargain. I'm rapidly turning into a little green eyed hoarder. PML Gollum!!! That's what I'm like picking up bits. "Come to Smeagle, my precious, come to Smeagle!"

I've just picked up rear strut and sportsM dials which I have no idea how to convert to read in MPH or if they will propperly yet. So I know how you feel

    Back on topic though!

  6. Cheap short shifter can make things more difficult. A DTracer shifter with the se7en brass bushes and a oil change may help.

Think serratia had a similar issue when he installed his JDM box and it needed parts replacing but not 100% sure.

Also celicaben is having a similar issue going into 6th.. http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/152539-after-five-years-new-username-and-lift/page__st__100#entry1916479

Dunno if any of that will help
