  1. I am honestly not sure on filing it down, as you say I cannot see why it would be an issues as its only a drive for the dizzy, so not under huge stress. But I am not an experienced engine builder so would not want to say for sure yes / no.

Can I ask a daft question, is it def a 165 head?

Reason being if it were a TTE head they use different diameter studs, so you would not be able to bolt it down with out issue.

As far as I know there are very few aftermarket cams for the 165 head, ATS being the main ones I know off and they fit the stock dizzy, they could be custom, but in which case it begs the question why make the dizzy drive different. The 162 ones fit the stock dizzy too.

I am 99% convinced that there is no difference in cams between JDM and europe, so the dizzys should be the same fit, I have 5 off them and there are identical.

otherwise if its def a 165 head, with aftermarket cams, I am intrigued.

  2. Yokohama Parada Spec 2

Make and Model plus size of Tyre: Yokohama Parada Spec-2 - 205 /40/ 17

    Celica owned: Gen 4 ST165

Type of driving: Fun A and B roads along with track day use

Type of driver: Push on, car is used for Fun and sprint work.

Miles covered so far and wear rate: Roughly 3000 miles lots of wear about 50%, tread blocks have moved, and outer edges badly worn

Dry use: above average, progressive on the limit, but the tread does move about, and the tyres do not cope very well with heavy repeated braking.

Wet use: Not great, even with 4wd, I can spin up in all 4 wheels in wet conditions, in gears 1 - 3. low levels of grip when attacking, but the level again is very progressive, car can be held in some pro-longed slides with ease. Copes with standing water well. Good under heavy braking.

Snow / Ice use: Not applicable

    Noise: Average.

Overall opinion / comments / strengths / weaknesses: good budget performance tyre, some limitations in out right grip, and not well suited to prolonged track day use. Wet weather road use is okay, but for wet track use, I would look else where.

Price paid and from where: £50 per corner from local tyre fitters in bromsgrove, Worcs

Rating out of 10: 7, good value, but lacks overall grip, and finesse of the higher cost dedicated performance tyres.
