  1. Clutch and Gbox issue go badly against it, as unless you do the swap yourself, the cost to do those two bits will outweigh the value of the car.

It presents from the pics as ever so slightly uncared for, and an uncared for 6 can be a proper Money pit

That said, it has a few bits going for it too.

    Good colour

Some nice bits being JDM, front bumper, the 3 spoke wheel, I assume its got the rear plate holder etc

I do think that the £300 - £500 above is on the money. Any more than that, is a bonus I reckon

  2. Great stuff fella. Cannot wait to see the results.

BTW re drivers out on track, What we have found, is that they may be names etc, but once you get over that, its just you vs them in similar kit.

My Lad has raced and beat lads and lasses with parents from F1, Sportscars and BTCC. all good fun!

  3. Mate there is a New saying

Some people do, some people create and watch YouTube videos.

    Massive difference.

Honestly If my life comes down to wondering exactly which pound for pound is the best penetrating spray on the market, then I feel I may have bigger things to worry about.

Fluid is only an option for a period of time, then there are tools and techniques that can surpass any fluid’s performance very quickly.

In terms of the medical analogy, I respect your opinion, However I disagree with your opinion. But then I had a Rover 600 and was only mildly impressed with it, despite it being the quick one. Your opinion is that it’s a very good car. We can all disagree over lots of things, that’s why its nice to have public forums.

  4. Bazz 54.

I would say that technique, knowledge and experience also have a lot to do with getting the best results from any of these products.

I would also listen to the opinion of a person who has built/ restored many vehicles etc to a high standard or has had or is having a career working full time where they use the product over say someone who occasionally works on a vehicle or spends a lot of time watching YouTube videos.

YouTube is a platform to make money, that is its core business model. Pretty much anyone who creates and uploads a video to any platform has the express intention of getting that item viewed as many times as possible. Some people succeed with great interesting and varied content that appeals, others use controversial or “helpful" angles to boost views and likes. The platform drives publishers to gain likes and viewers along with subscribers and its tier platform is such that it drives people to push more and more content to make their channels a success.

There is no one fact checking these sites or looking at the authenticity of these claims.

Just as with documentaries on domestic TV, or Advertorial data driven research, it’s very hard to get 100% clean fact driven data.

So in my eyes, opinion of people who have to use these products on a daily basis to earn a living carries a lot of weight, If a product is poor or expensive and the money you take home or quality of your working day is impacted by its performance, you look for the best you can get.

  5. I agree, rwd BMW on run flats is just useless in snow and Ice

I had an Alpina D3 for a bit, and even in the wet with 516 lb ft of torque and no LSD it was daft.

When I got my 440i I factory ordered the LSD, much to the dealers amazment. Makes such a difference.

my winter rims are 18" and apart from the slight increase in road noise, I prefer the way it drives, as the ride is better. The stock 19" rims and run flats are pretty poor.

Sadly no big hills near me to show off with. I can imagine you laughing.

Even 4x4s struggle on some types of tyres, I had another set of the wifes car and remember passing a x3 that was just spinning up all the time

  6. Yep, I have learned that in motorsport, a set back is the opportunity to improve and learn / develop.

Also no substitute for testing and seat time.

So looking forward to the progress with this.

One day If I can, I would love to catch up, bring my lad and show him the car, meet you guys etc

One of the Gen 7 celicas Lee first race preped was my old Sport M shell Mia.

always have a soft spot for a celica race car.

  7. Mate so so so pleased for you all.

you are dead right, Motorsport is 95% frustration and 5% joy..

The conditions on Saturday were awful, Honestly it was so wet. Fair play to you all. We were miserable and wet just down the road if its any consolation

So gutted re the fumes, that is such a pain. But at least you know that the package is damn fast.

    Great job all

  8. That would be great.

He will be 11 in April.

I plan one more full year in cadets.

Then move up a class kart wise

But once he is 13 I want to look at testing. We are looking at racing in one of the hatch series, the Saxo one seams popular at present.

I am firmly of the belief that Karting helps at a young age in terms of driver development. Look at Ash Sutton Gearbox champ at Le Mans last weekend.

By the time we get to cars, He will have been racing for well over 3 years.
