Of all the liftbacks, that is the best looking...but the coupe is just perfect!

don't forget the Gen 7 Coupe
I've never seen that, I always thought Toyota hadn't done one!
And it proves my point...it's loads better looking than the Liftback. I never liked the gen 7 but if the Coupe had been available I might have bought one.
OK, just realised that's photoshopped

When are going to fix those headlights?
-
OK, I couldn't find them in any of the brochures but I've just googled the part number and they're gen 7 wheels.
-
Don't recognise them, pretty sure they're not Celica wheels.
-
This was my first Celica, I followed it up with 2 MA61s and an ST202.

Simply change to 225/50R16 and you will find there is loads of choice, the tyres are cheaper and the speedo is more accurate.

I'm currently running Avon ZV7 which are great value. Near premium performance at mid range price.
Previously I've had Dunlop SP Sport and Bridgestone Potenza which are top tyres, but at top prices.
I would recommend any of these.

Found this on DriveTribe
QuoteAnyone remember the Toyota Celica? Well, it might make a comback. According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Toyota Motor Corp. has filed a patent for the name on August 31, 2017.
Given that the personality of the Celica is split over two eras, the possibility of a future car is certainly an interesting one. Will it be a RWD coupe from yesteryear, or a flame-spitting AWD rally machine? Or will Toyota pull a Toyota and make it a FWD economy car aimed at volume sales?
I do have hope based on recent offerings from Toyota. GT86, Supra, S-FR concept... so hopefully that's an indication that they want to sell more sporty cars. But, I wouldn't be too surprised to see a sub-2.0-liter CVT crapbox.
Or, this is all nonsense and Toyota is just refiling the patent so as to not lose ownership of it. What do you guys think?

There is absolutely nothing bodged on my Celica...but back in the 70s I did some dreadful things An old Vauxhall Victor with terminal rust on an inner wing by the bonnet hinge. When it fell apart and the corner of the bonnet started flapping I reinforced the inner wing with some pine offcuts I found in the shed.

Driver's is 21", passenger's is 19", and the rear one is 20".

There is one available for the ST and GT, see this thread, but I don't know if the vert is the same underneath.

It's nothing serious, mine has been doing it since 2003 and it still runs fine.
I've got a '98 GT and every year about this time for about 30 secs to a minute after starting the tickover hunts up and down. It's only from cold and stops as the engine warms up. I've always assumed it was to do with temperature and something in the idle control sticking but it's never bugged me enough to try and fix it.

I've had my '83 for 17 years and my '98 for just 12 years so far.

The current advice from the auto industry is to put new tyres on the rear. It's all to do with under/over steer.
With newer tyres on the rear, in poor conditions, the car will tend to understeer.
With newer tyres on the front, oversteer is more likely.
For non enthusiast/ inexperienced drivers understeer is considered to be safer.
Drivers who are experienced with RWD cars and who have more confidence usually prefer a car to oversteer.
In simple terms, if you need to ask then put the new tyres on the rear.

Just to make it clear, that's not my car. It's some randon pics I found on the web about 10 years ago, I think it's French.
Don't like the look myself but I guess masking and spraying would give the best result.

Most council recycling centres take used oil. Check your council's website.

I'm guessing there's no point in posting this one from 2011

I bought my current Celica in 2003.
It's still my daily driver and I've no plans to replace it yet.

Those wheels are original, made by Momo, fitted to the SR only.
