  1. Think i'll always be a 205 driver. i do love the classic looks of the Gen 5 and love the pop up lights, propper sports car touch!!

But I know the 205's inside out and I love the power and a few mods and I could easily increase it. But if I got for a 3rd GT4, think im going to look out for a late spec JDM like my old green one, even tho that was a 1996, it still had all the late spec upgrades, unless it was done by the previous owners.

  2. Gen5 has the cooler body....Gen6 has the better power,PITA suspension though

Mind you ,should have kept your green 205 mate.... :nono: that was lovely

please don't :( wish I never got rid of it!!........ its in Poland now.

But I will get another, but not sure weather a 205 or 185. I like the look of both, but always had Gen 6 Celica's, so a change could be good. But yeah I would miss the power from the ST205.

Quite a few on ebay at the moment and some really good ones too, not the usual stuff.

Would like to go for a UK spec ST205, but not many about. I know nothing about the engine in the 185, guessing quite similar to the 205?

is turbo air cooled in the 185?

hard to beat the classic look of the gen 5 in any guise mate :D

Both look amazing next to each other. Love the rear end on the 6, but like the classic pop up headlights on the 5

  3. theres no diffrence in the looms or buldholders, ive had both deside each other. gen5 is the same. my jdm has had the inner "brake"lights disconnected by cutting the wire  i have 4 rear tails and only 3 brakes instead of 5. its the signal that they get sent from the sender unit

I was after the 4 tails lights more than anything, I can live with 3 brake lights. The loom has already had the fog light conversion done to it. So should just plug and play and wire the fog live in to the wire that's been added for the fog.

I might reconnect the cut brake wire so that I have 4 brake lights as well as the 4 tail lights and then convert my 3rd high level brake light on the boot as the rear fog and put 21w bulb in there, don't this to my old GT4 and worked fine.

  4. ok guys I have found the source of the squeel :)

Aux/Alternator belt is sticking almost coming to a stop and the squeel is the belt rubbing on the pully. Or I should say pully rubbing on the belt.

    what could cause this?

    1. crank engine and all is normal, revs normal, belts all moving normal.

    2. turn steering wheel to put load on PAS pump and the Aux belt starts to go stiff and squeel around the altinator pully I think and the revs drop like its going to stall and the lights dim slightly when this is happening and the steering wheel feels notch when this is all happening.

    3. stop turning the steering wheel and squeel stops and revs go back to normal.

When actually driving about there is no squeel or notchyness form the steering wheel. But e.g; when parking in a space and or pulling out of one when the the steetring wheel is notchy and the belt squeels again. But its the Aux belt not the PAS belt.

    whats all this about?

Aux belt does seem quite loose, i'll put up a video in a few mins.

Is it loose or does this look about right?

Also the pas belt is tight. Cant twist it and only pushes down about half a centimeter.
