CelicaBen190
Quick question... My wing mirrors are in a really bad condition paint wise, I didn't do the best job.. I think I should have lacquered them, because I didn't and they are really dull. Anyway, to lacquer should I just wet and dry with fine paper and then lacquer? tombrady
Yes mate, chances are once flatted and polished with wet and dry you might not want to lacquer them.
keef-b
If the paint is thick enough then yes, just a light sand with 2000/2500 to smooth and key the surface, wipe down with something to remove all dust/grease/residue then laquer. Be sure it's dry and warm where you're laquering as it can "bloom" and go cloudy with too much moisture/cold about. Once you've finished laquering let it cure for a good few days - don't worry if the finish isn't perfect. Once it's cured give it a hit with rubbing compound then a t-cut it'll be like a mirror
