I have a JDM GT4, it has central locking via the key hole on the door, but not key fob remote. I was looking on ebay and there are loads of kits for this. I don't need the whole central locking kit where I need to fit actuators to all the locks etc, but just the electronic controller that I wire to the cars already central locking ecu. Does anyone know if its easy or have done this them selfs. What kit is best to go for as there are loads. Cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mondo Posted December 10, 2011 Report Share Posted December 10, 2011 I did mine a couple of years ago, mate - was an eBay special with very basic specs. Took me ages to find the diodes to make the hazards flash when locking and unlocking! They're fairly straightforward to fit (at least mine was)... just a matter of following the (hopefully) supplied wiring diagram and mating them up with the Celica loom where necessary. You don't realize how out of date it is when you have to put the key in the lock to open Dont suppose you know what kit you bought, also where is the central locking loom these days? My faff has a toad which has an output wired into to control the central locking controller. Sadly cant be much use to you as never fitted it.
