  3. Sounds like you need some winter tyres and some Racelogic traction control!

  7. It's really worth finding the time to watch all of that - I won't spoil the ending for you, but it was quite surprising Lots of good lines - if correctly translated - I especially like 'When I saw that, I thought, someone's brought along an SUV!'
  8. Well it matters to my insurers - they refused point blank to cover it if the MOT has expired Guess it was time I shopped around for another insurer anyway...
  9. Cheers - I was worried that I'd need the paperwork that proved I was SORN'ed to reapply for a disc. Just got to see what my insurers will say about insuring an untaxed, unMOT'ed car now...
  10. Is there a limit to how short a time you can SORN your car for? Mine won't run, so I can't pass an MOT, but I'm hoping it will run again in less than a month. I'm quite happy to SORN to avoid a fine, but I don't want to be stuck unable to reapply for a tax-disc once it's all back up and running again... Ironically, I could probably pass everything but the emissions test, and my car is currently a zero-emissions vehicle!
  11. Disconnecting sparkplugs and injectors removes the fire from cylinders completely - leaning out the AFR does not - IIRC it generally makes your engine run hotter and risks causing detonation or melting something. Modulating your right foot is probably your best bet - I can get anywhere between 60 and 35mpg in my 1L Yaris depending on how I drive it...
  12. Can't you just disconnect 2 or 3 of the spark-plugs and injectors and double or triple your MPG
  13. Last time I ordered some, they had to look it up - there was apparently a switch from red to pink or vice-versa depending on the model year... I'd just like to say a big thank you to Sheep and another club memeber who contacted me by PM (and so I presume wants to remain nameless?) to quote me for the parts I need. I'm still not 100% sure what I'm going to do yet, but I'm very glad to see the club-spirit is alive and well. In fact, I'm feeling rather guilty about my affair with newcelica.org
  14. Thanks - I might give them a ring, but several of the posts say 'not special order parts' - and half a 2ZZ-GE is definately special order Thanks - that's probably my most local - well, apart from my local one which won't give discounts...
  15. I was wondering whether we had a Shutty replacement - I'm after a shed load of parts for yet another rebuild, and I could do with a club discount! Cheers, Grav
  16. Sorry, that came across wrong - I was just wondering how the creation of fora was decided within the club...
  17. Surely this club must have some rules? If it's just a case of getting enough members to vote for it, then bring it on and let democracy decide it...
  18. I don't really see the harm in it if it will stop them moaning that they haven't got a forum, but as Arvi says, it might open the floodgates. Perhaps all the classifications need a re-jig? When I want to ask about a mod, should it go in the mod forum, or the Gen-7 forum so as not to bore all the gen 1-6 owners? But hey, it's sort of audio related, so should it go in there? What will happen to 5th gen convertable owners who are interested in a soft-top mod? Where would they post?
