...how do those ones fit to the stereo bracket ?
If they are the same as on the Gen'4/5, it will be with a screw at each end.

The liquid around the tooth in your photo does seem to have a redish tint to it which would indicate that it is coolant (Toyota Forlife / Long Life Coolant is red in colour) but removing the matrix isn't a job I would like doing myself. If you can find a way to bypass the matrix using a piece of rubber tube, that might be the best short term option to stop any more leaks inside the car.

... I decided to try a local garage and I've never seen such a long list of advisories... Fortunately, someone put me on to another garage and the same car has subsequently passed another 2 MoT's with no advisories.
If you can find a "dedicated" MoT testing business you will find their results are far more honest. They don't do repairs so it's left to the vehicles owner to take it to a garage or do the repairs themselves. Local councils will sometimes offer this 'no axe to grind' service in between maintaining their own vehicles.

If anyone else wants to try the "starter method" to remove the pulley bolt, remember to disconnect the HT coil first so the engine doesn't start.

It depends how deep the scratches are, but a polishing compound called Regipol is used in the jewelry industry for polishing stones, watch face glass etc.

The trouble with those checker things is that they will show you what they want to sell you and not what you want to buy.I used the number plate part checker on GSF's site...

You could try using some heat shrink tubing in the area where it usually breaks, this will help to reinforce the wire and allow it to take some abuse.

I haven't used either of these myself, but Granville Heavy Duty Rust Cure and Epoxy Mastic 121 are supposed to be good. They are both expensive, but cheaper than the cost of a welded repair if you let the rust take over.

This might help a little.
Double check the size with the following link, I'm not a Gen'7 expert.

...I require a good powerful battery which can be a good upgrade to the current battery I have.
If you don't already have the correct battery (Ref:005) then just fitting the standard battery could be what you're looking for. If you have filled your car with loads of speakers/amp's then I would think that a more powerful battery might be needed, but I know very little about ICE (In Car Entertainment), so wait for an expert to answer that one.
Let us know what battery is fitted now, brand/make, model etc.

Quite expensive for a small piece of plastic!

Another method that works sometimes is forcing an old allen/hex key into the hole and undoing it. Not the best way to treat a new allen key set, but if you have a cheap set of keys and aren't worried about mistreating them, then it's worth trying.

...The can (car?) has been vinyl dipped in Lamborghini Green...
Dipped?... Surely they mean wrapped. Must have been a huge tank they used to dip the car.

I think water has found its way between the friction material and backing plate and over a number of years it has been quietly corroding.
Now you need some new rear discs because those look like they have worn below their service limit.

The sidewall of the tyre will be taller which you might not like the look of.
Use this visual calculator to see the difference.

...Wrap in any colour looking at around £600
That's too cheap. A decent wrap will be near £1000 if you want it to last. It's a pity you're too far from Northampton, my brother would have been happy to give you a quote.

...quite shocking in fact and a bit of a shame they have lasted less than a year.
As usual, you get what you pay for. It's possible to get vinyl that is guaranteed for five years against peeling, cracking, fading etc, but not everyone is willing to pay the extra. Some vinyl is only intended to be used on temporary signs and short term advertising such as you'll see on taxi's and buses. It's another case of "buyer beware".

Tyre Size Calculator.
Here is link to a tyre size calculator if anyone is thinking about upgrading to bigger wheels/tyres. Remember, fitting the wrong size can affect your speedometer readings.

...for those with the experience of buying Gen 6 <, how do you go about making sure you buy a 10+ year old model which is still in good shape ?
There will always be pampered, well looked after examples of any car. The trick is to be patient and wait for them to come onto the market and then act quickly before someone else gets them.
It took me just over a year to find a virtually rust free Gen'5 and lots of disappointing journeys back and forth, but I finally found one for a great price.
The best of luck with your search.
