Most of the credit has to go to Paulus3476 who took the time to find this solution for all of us.
Thanks, again, Paulus.

...when you say 'splicing into the loom', is that just splicing onto the connector already there?
Yes, it's not "plug 'n' play", so you will have to remove the connector from the new replacement and use the old one that's on the car now. It was possibly done the same way when the last replacement was fitted, unless you were lucky enough to have matching male/female connectors.

I don't think red rubber grease is silicone; isn't it made from natural plant oils?
Yes, near enough.
"Castrol Red Rubber Grease is a medium consistency grease based on a vegetable oil and a synthetic gelling agent".

Fit a new one from a Lexus. It will need slight modification to fit.

If the belt shows signs of cracking, it's time for a replacement.
I think Blueprint source their parts from major OEM manufacturers, so either of the three you mentioned would be fine.

A set of four axle stands will be needed if you want to support the front and rear at the same time.
You can gain some extra height by placing your 380mm jack on top of some old bricks or timber that you might have laying around.

Is this carnage you suffered still ongoing or just a bad era of the past?
It's an on/off situation over the last three years. I had a collection of repairs to do on the car and while it sits waiting for me to fix them the car becomes a piece of 'recreational equipment' for the kids to play on. When I complained to their parents the answer I got from them was "well, you're not using it...", the second time I complained the answer I got was more direct - "F*** Off !"

Do any of you have any mysterious damage that magically appears on your Celica?
Yes, by a boy of similar age to your neighbours - 8/9 year old.
It started off as "mysterious" then I realised the damage began shortly after the new neighbours moved in.
The list so far...
Both headlight washers jets broken off.
Countless scuffs and scratches on the bonnet due to him using it as a slide.
Lefthand sidelight broken.
Drivers door lock blocked up with a piece of wood (twig).
Front reg' plate pulled off.
Him and his friends seen sitting on the roof of the car.
All done while the car was in a communal parking area.

Where or how did you get to the above??
If you are comparing my screenshot to what you see on your computer, then it will be different because I'm using Linux KDE Neon and you are probably using some version of Windows.

Can you explain how please Xanadu
Sorry for the late reply, I've not visited recently.
So, right-click page one of the thread and select "Save Page As..."
You should now see something similar to the screenshot below. Choose to save as "Web Page, complete" and add a number - 01, 001, etc - at the end of the file name, but before .html, this will keep the pages in the right order.
You will have to repeat the above for each page.
Once you've got all the pages you need, you can put everything - files and folders - into one folder of your own choice.

You could also save it as HTML format.

I would hope that they wouldn't call the police if you ignored their advice not to drive it, but who knows?

Try and find a dedicated MoT centre - one that doesn't do repairs and servicing etc - you'll get a fairer test.

It's a shame that they couldn't make the longer sections out of one piece of tube, rather than multiple short bits.
