Are you using a good quality filler? Is it in date as they have a shelf life?

Good luck. At the risk of sounding like an arse Paintless dent removal is an art and a serious skill, I've invested nearly 4k in training and tools and that would take around 1-2 hours to get it acceptable.
That area of the wing is tough too.

If the part you need to paint is already painted I would just give them a good key using grey scotchbrie till there very dull and hit them straight with the colour! No need to .prime themif the paint is new and intact really.

I had mintex pads on plain disks and they squealed like a fcuker :/

Can your Toyota dealer not find the badge on there system or is it no.longer available?

The mechanic at work likes soaking seized bolts in brake fluid.

80g to 120g to 240g then bury any furring in plastic primer then wet flat with 800g then 1200g . That's how I role at work
-
Ive always used Toyota oils. Purely because you get it free if you buy the service kit and I've had no problems with it.

Heat the whole area up. If you blow from the back sometimes the force of the air pushes a lot out. Then just use a screwdriver to gently tease the rest out.
-
Heat it with a heat gun until it's too hot to touch but not hot enough that it starts to bubble the paint or melt. The using the handle of a screwdriver push it out. That's how I reshape bumpers.

Had a chinese student creep up on my the other day as I was refitting some parts.
He was just starring at the car and when I said hi he asked if I was an engineer , I couldn't be bothered to eplain I was a panel beater and just replied yes. He then gives off a massive grin followed by that is awesome .
Made my day did that.

I have used them.
It was shadow chrome aerosole that I ordered but me being the impatient ass that I am ruined the finish and didnt bother getting any more.
It started off ok and and I pretty much had it done but I put the last coat down too heavy and made a mess.
I would deffo use them again tho.

At work I use upol easy sand , followed by a thin skim of upol dolphin glaze as a stopper then 3M glazing putty to get most of the scratches and pinholes.there are 2 types I use, red for large areas if pinholes are few and far between and green if pinholes are more of a problem .
even then a few may remain after highbuild primer, if so then apply some 3M glazing putty to the pinhole and wet sand down.
Stoppers and glazing putty needs to be applied as thinly as possible, use the easy sand to achieve the shape.
pinholes tend to occur when the filler doesn't flow when being applied, Thick fillers like the easy sand drag as its dense.that's why a wet ,nice flowing stopper such as dolphin glaze needs to be used on finishing.
after the primer has dried go over it with a bright torch and look closely for pinholes, apply the putty before sanding the primer.
Even after 13 years of applying the stuff i still get issues with pinholes but you just have to check closely before you put colour on top.

You should be able to remove the internal contact on the plug then solder the wire back on then reinsert into the plastic housing

I will speak to you about this later mate.
-
Nope. You will mess up the metallic otherwise.
Before lacquering apply a dust coat of colour after the 2-3 coats of normal coverage. From a distance allow the paint to dust onto the part/panel. This will get the flake sitting nicely .

Focus rs green.

Mine wasn't an sr model either.
You would be amazed how damp the metal roof gets on the inside between the headlining.
Clean and re-grease the contacts or swap it out for a new unit.

As dublet says. Check for voltage at the bulb terminals on the roof light. Sometimes knackered/cheap chinese led can still light up a bit
And is the new bulb rated for 12v and not 24v.
The beams clock use led I think in the red and blue bulb holder I think as standard.
I think the dome fuse controls the interior lights. Radio and clock.
I also had problems with the integration relay in the fuse box under the steering wheel. This controls most of the interior lights. It must be replaced with another with the same part number. It is a white or green box a couple inches in size.
-
I had a problem with my roof lights once. It turned out that condensation had corroded the terminals on the back of the lamp unit.
May be worth a look. 2 screws hold it in iirc.
Check the dome light fuse also. It may have half popped .

Also. Water based paint dries a different shade so the colour in the can is not necessarily what it will look like when dried.
Water base also takes longer to dry then solvent.
anyone know what wheels these are?
