  1. Im not saying the supra is rubbish far from it im comparing it to a similar priced Evo - but for me they never have been my cup of tea even when we had them in for service when i was a 17 year old apprentice at Toyota in 93 i never thought wow i want one like i did when the 205 came out in 94.

But a evo would leave all the other cars eating its dust in a spirited drive over back country roads.

  2. Id go Evo - a Supra is just a big heavy straight line machine unless you spend ££££ on the suspension set up.

If you can afford the associated costs and do your research then go for it - Evo's are leagues ahead in terms of performance and nobody can deny this.

Mook had a Evo 4 with 5 running gear i believe and are a few on the OC who have run EVO's - ask on there too

  3. I think he will all round top bloke - but maybe a deposit is best way to secure but sometimes there can be pitfalls with members who have no morals

When i was buying Erin a GT4 i had agreed to buy a black car off of a member on the GT4OC - sent him £400 deposit on the agreed terms that he would wait for my money to clear.

I was very clear about this and that it was going to be around 6 - 8 weeks and he was fine with this.

I had also agreed to pay full price and not tried to haggle.

After 4 weeks he said he needed the cash - i re explained the deal we had struck.

He said he had a buyer and that it had to go - i was not happy but simply asked for my deposit back.

I got £100 he said he had dropped price by £300 for the sale and so i was loosing out as i had to stand his loss !!!

Needless to say was not impressed - ended up with her yellow one and he seemed to dissapear with hs money despite trying to find him and recover more

    Live and learn

  4. There are always risks involved in running cars - especially rally reps that are coming upto 20 years old and cost £30K when new.

But if you buy a good one - and the one in question is one of the best and cleanest around - then a lot of that risk is removed.

Yes they dont give great mpg , they can be expensive if they break - but a good one will last if correctly maintained and a ST205 imo is the pinnacle of celica evolution.

    You will love it
