If there was no mot on the vehicle at the time of the accident
Then unless it was pre booked into an mot station it should not have been on the road
And all mot stations have to keep records of mot bookings for vosa inspections .
on your insurance certificate you will find a discaimer that states that you are only insured if the vehicle is legal ..
If it aint got mot it aint legal to drive ..
Its immaterial really cos the way i read it ...the mot ran out after the accident ...
If it didnt have mot i would be very wary of involving your insurance company
-
As long as you had mot at the time of the accident you were covered on insurance side ..
If you now want to claim for a whiplash injury go through your insurance
If you just want to claim for the damage that was actually caused then thats what the company are offering
Its entirely up to you what you do ,my personal opinion on whiplash injury claims is probably best not mentioned as its only my opinion ,
I had the most minor and i mean minor of bumps in my van at no more than 3 miles an hour
The guy got out of his van rubbing his feckin neck ...examined his vehicle not even a scratch on the plastic bumper !!
As soon as he asked if it was a company vehicle ...and i told him yes ...but i own the business ..he stopped rubbing his neck
Nuff said

Ive had my hid kit in for a while now after a few nightmares with dodgy ballasts i bought slimline ballasts and not had an issue since ..but .....( theres always a but )
My instrument lights have a mind of their own
Ive ordered a new speedo to see if its the actual unit but ime inclined to think that due to the low current requirement of hid bulbs i may need to put diodes in line to resolve the issue of driving at night without being able to see the speedo
Anyone had this issue or am i special lol

My supercharger is on its way
I have a picture of a box ....but i dont suppose that counts lol
Only5-7 working days till the import charges hit me like a bag of bricks !!!!

I think mick bailey had the same experience of crappy optima batteries in his motor as well ...think his was a redtop ..mine was yellow ..i fell for the hype just tryin to help others not to fall for the marketing
They are quite popular as marine batteries but the way i see it if youve got £150k for a glorified dinghy you dont really notice £150 a year on new batteries
-
From my own experiences with batteries ...optima lasted 2 years ...overpriced pile of crap ..my new way of buying batteries is ..highest cranking power ? Will it fit under the bonnet ? Would it power my ice for more than 3.5 minutes without engine on ( the answer to that is no ) and how much for a pair ?
Battery buying guide by me

Another update
Went to see Lyndon ,we went out in my constantly backfiring Madame and came back with a sweetly purring beast
Turns out it was a throttle position sensor ,a few keystrokes on his trusty laptop, and she was cured of her bad manners
On Sunday she is being tightened up with new drop links front and back ,and front and rear engine mounts,so she should stop feckin rattling ( typical bloody female )
-
where in cannock do you get it mapped... ??? as i live like 2 minutes away.... (the reason i ask mine backfires a bit when giving it a spirited drive every so often) although at 165000 miles on a 7afe engine i should be grateful shes moving at all... lol...
The guy who I use lives in Cannock
Being honest don't know wether he could do anything with a standard ecu as I have a full standalone link g4 that he is a recognised expert at mapping .
-
Another update
Tcb have done comparisons and say the st205 engine mounts will definitely fit
So £150 later they are comin 2 Moro and get em fitted Sunday .
So hopefully come Sunday afternoon she will be running perfectly / have 12 months m.o.t. / and be as tight as a drum
Now someone wake me up as I was having a lovely dream
-
Quick update
Got in touch with Lyndon who originally mapped it and he doesn't sound too concerned
Which makes me a happy bunny
He reckons maybe a downed speed sensor
Coil pack
Or engine position sensor
But he can find out definitely as soon as he connects to the ecu
So I will be off to Cannock on Friday .
After m.o.t on both car and van 2 Moro ( fingers and toes crossed )
Just gonna ring tcb as me and neighbour were having a look at the side engine mount that I thought was shot ,when he noticed that it's actually the front engine mount that's got movement in it
So I will get a front and rear engine mount to hopefully tighten her back up ( this could also be the reason I've gone through 3 offside cv boots in 2 years !! )
Just waiting on tcb ringing back as they are checking if the st205 engine mounts will fit as they will be a much better option due to the power she is running.

Firstly you are correct no one will find you a 4inch sub woofer as I doubt they exist
So what you want is a set of component speakers in the front
And speakers in th rear.
Can I suggest that you Take off th door card measure across the speaker recess to see what the measurements are on the mounting points.
Make a template and take it to halfords to see what speakers fit
Once you get out of the " must replace with same " mindset and get your " that will work with a bit of fettling " head on
Your on a winner
What I would suggest is a set of front components with passive crossover and tweeter like alpine 17c .
And a set of 2 or 3 way components in the rear .
Just with these relatively cheap speakers you will be blown away by the difference in sound quality from standard .
-
Sorry chan
£150 for a pair of decent 6x 9s is ridiculously expensive .
Quality gear is not as expensive as some people would lead you to believe.
You are on the right track with your alpine wishlist -- renowned as some of the best gear on the Market
And for what you want from your system not exactly bank breaking.
My show winning sound system is all alpine ,as is Mick baileys:)
-
Nothings free, break it down for an average setup for you if you want.
HU - £300 minimum for a decent one with satnav built in, more if your not buying it off ebay.
Speakers (front 2 + 2 tweeters) - £200
Front speakers shouldn't be more than £100
Speakers (rear speakers assuming 6x9) - £150
6x 9 £150!!! Your avin a laugh
Wiring - £50
He isn't amping so your probably looking at £20 max
Thats £700 already without including any labour & the alterations required going from single to double din.
If you want to do it by yourself, it will be alot cheaper mate.

So today was the day for my Santa pod debut with the new look lightweight bitch
After removal of 140lb of boot build and the removal of 7.5 lb per corner with the lightweight wheels .
I was most hopeful of beating my best time of 15.1 seconds and getting well into the low to mid 14s
Obviously things havnt gone to plan
First run I managed to feck up by not revving enough 15.31
Second run over revving and bouncing up the track in 1st 15.52
Third run I was really impressed with
Got off the line beautifully hit the gears perfectly
Got my timing slip ....
15.31 WTF !!
So this is where the trouble begins
Closer examination reveals on run 3
At 1/8th of a mile I was 2 mph up on previous
At 1000 m I was 3 mph up
Yet at 1/4 mile 0.5 mph up.
Which is where the problems began
At the end of run 2 I thought I heard backfiring at the end
At the end of run 3 I definitely heard it backfiring it's tits off
And the joy of travelling 115 miles back home when every time you ease your foot off the accelerator the bitch backfires like uncle bucks caddilac ( ask your dad )
So obviously it's over fuelling like a bitch
Hopefully it's all down to me letting the battery die over winter and she is in urgent need of a remap to the link .
Don't really want to think of any more ( bloody expensive ) options at the moment.

Paul is one of the nicest and most helpful blokes I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
Met him for the first time at jae this year.
Even though I was not using him to do my conversion he was always willing to give any and all advice whenever I asked.

Oy
Tea making is a bloody art form
But yes I am useless
