Mate of mine, Craig, owns CWF Poulten on Weston Grove Road in Woolston and looks after all my cars. If they're local to you it might be worth dropping by or giving them a call to see if they can help.

thanks matt, i do know reworx, mapped my 200sx a while ago... they are a bit far to drive the car as it stands at the moment, but will bear in mind. really coudl do with some local second opinions, gut tells me its water pump, but before i rip it out i wanna get it looked at.
thing is car was perfect, no noises etc before the aux belt snapped due to wear and tear and the tensioner failing. that wrapped itself round the PS pump, bending the axle which i have replaced with a refurbed PS pump, but still got a very odd noise under load from 1-3k, soemthing unhappy under strain... so alternator, water pump and or main crank pulley are all thats left... had a thought it maybe the chain, but took out the tensioner that was ok i think, and the chain does have a small amount of play, can move it up and down between the pulleys, but cant see how its linked to the aux belt snapping...
any other thoughts and help much appreciated guys n girls... cars off the road, just in time for me 30th lol

Morning all,
Ongoign saga with my car post aux belt and tensioner fail, need ot get some other opinions on what could be wrong still, I was wondering if anyone in the Southampton area with engine experience (cars a 2zzge but prob isnt an engine model specific prob) would be able to lend an ear to help diagnose and/or anyone know a good mechanic/garage in the local area. Ideally I would want to take it to Se7en, but cant drive it that far at present
Thanks
Paul

NANKANG NS2 205/50/16
Make and Model plus size of Tyre: Nankang NS2 205/50/16
Celica owned: Gen 5 ST182 with Gen 7 alloys
Type of driving: 50/50 motorway/urban
Type of driver: Usually refined, occasional right foot thumper
Miles covered so far and wear rate: 200 miles; as new! (will update after 3k)
Dry use: Only have them on the front, but superb grip in corners and under acceleration... very close to T1Rs... When rears wear out, will replace with these.
Wet use: As above, good grip in the wet, much better than the Fate0 AR550s I had before
Snow / Ice use: Not tested
Noise: Can't hear them at all
Overall opinion / comments / strengths / weaknesses: Excellent price, near T1R levels of grip, would liek them all round at some point. A friend has them on his HSV GTS (600bhp) and they keep that 2 ton beast stuck on the track, and, unlike T1Rs, withstand the occasional burnout.
Price paid and from where:£112ish for two fully fitted at a Hutfileds Car Centre, Botley. A mytyres.co.uk fitter
Rating out of 10: 9/10
