  1. Hi Guys,

Thinking of changing the horn on the 7 as the standard one is not very 'manly' and sounds like it should be on a Yaris. I found the Renault Laguna ones to be a bit better but wondered if anyone knows af a good mans horn I can try lol :P

  2. Would that be the actual size of them if they were to be fitted to the car? Because I'd imagine if they were a bit smaller, they'd actually look really good!

Yeah those are OEM GTR Headlights, the R35 style ones that a few members on here have are based on these. :)

  3. Sorry to hear this buddy. I wish you a speedy recovery.

It is easy enough to get fully comp online daily cover from dayinsure or norwich union very cheaply. :)

Get the kettle on next week Fab, me and Sawyer are planning on coming for a visit, Take the car for a run and bore you with Detailing chat, Mark's got OCD you know..

 CCUK to the rescue! :D

  4. Oh looney, what are you thinking! :xmas_ohmy:

Tbh, the Gen 7 t sport i test drove the other day was a really nice car to drive, Performance was very close to the Gen 6 GT.

If your happy with the performance of yours then you'll like a 190, Lift is a nice kick but short lived unless you proper rag it :xmas_biggrin:

The 7 is slightly more comfortable mainly due to seats, Road holding on the standard t sport was better than my 6 on Koni's and apex springs, 7 corners on rails :xmas_biggrin:

I know it's down to personal taste but i think the 7 is better looking, certainly more upto date .Also with cams and induction and remap and lowered, well you get the idea :xmas_laugh:

All the above is fine, but i would say if you look after your 6 as you do then it will literally go on forever. Even if the worst happens it's so easy to fix, and yours looks great!!!!

Last but not least, What can you get for yours, horrid i know but i aint got anyone ringing on mine :xmas_sad:

    :werd:

  5. ive drove a 140 a few times,is there a big diffrence between one of these and say a gt 190? is it quite noticeable?

    Totally different beasts mate. :D

As for handling, My first 190 only had Eibach Springs on stock shocks and handled like a dream, im running the same set-up on my Sports-M.

The 7 with the Mac set-up is a much much more agile car than any FF Gen6 maybe apart from the Beams ones with Superstrut - Havent driven of those so cant be sure, BUT when you get a 7 with Superstrut thats not shagged I'm sure it would outhandle those too. :)

  6. Tbh after my test drive in a 190 today, i think i can rule the Gen 7 out unless one comes up with some good power mods.

I know GT4 ownership has it's risks but if i keep mine i'm likely to throw a grand at it in the next 12 months and say yeah it's a lovely car, but it's not that quick :(

If its power you are after there is a very nice ex-fensport Blitz S/C'd TRD Sports-M Gen 7 for sale on Pistonheads.. ;)

I was actually looking for a ST205 before I got my 1st 190 and together with the bad taste of running costs with the 2.5 twin turbo 4WD VR-4 still in my mouth, I thought the 190 was a better financial choice.

I agree with the above posts really, the St205 is the ultimate drivers Celica and to get any fun out of it you will burn ALOT of fuel. :D

Im only running a Gen 7 now because im saving money for petrol for my next car ;)

  7. Hi,

I have owned a gen 4 GT4 - Gen 6 SS-I, Gen7190 and now the Sports-M - I came to a Gen 7 190 from a 300hp Misti VR-4 Type S and decided that turbo'd 4wd cars are just too heavy on the fuel and expensive when they go wrong as well as much more to go wrong too. I found the trade off between power and fuel economy/running costs was just right and have stuck with the Gen 7's ever since. If you have deep pockets and dont mind shelling out for fuel then I would go for a St205 GT4 but if you want a reliable daily driver that is not too much to run then the 190 is a must! Hope that helps. :)

When I had a Gen6 and the 7 came out I absolutely hated it and then I saw a TRD kitted one and thought that looks sexy. In my eyes then the 7 was not a 'proper' celica as it was US designed and a bit less Japanese than its predecessors. :)

  8. Ah! And when putting new coolant in, you must detach the expansion tank and lift it higher. Got to unscrew the air box so the hoses can be lifted up that are connected to the expansion tank and run engine, let the coolant cycle for at leist 3 or 4 times with the cap and breather valve screw off. I don't recommend putting any sort of quick fix rad seal or such, as it can also block your heater matrix.

Will be doing this when i fit my new 50mm Ally Rad - Thanks for the tip Zorg. :)

  9. I don't mind seeing these sort of things for sale on ebay, but i thought Funky Power were a reputable outfit, it really does put you off buying from them knowing that they are selling this tat

This is what struck me too - I heard about these a few years ago and knew it was bullshit but cannot believe Funky Power are selling them - I wont be buying anything from them as they are obviously not as honest as I'd hoped. .. .
