  1. Yeah I see where you're coming from, but oil is the blood of the engine & the good quality stuff sits firmly at the top of my list. People don't seem to think twice about buying some tacky mods for £50, so I can't see why anyone would skimp on oil? The old adage - look after your engine & it'll look after you :)

    This.

  2. That sucks mate! :(

Have heard of people claiming from councils for stuff like this, apparently it is possible but there are some technicalities involved, not too sure what they are but something to do with whether said pothole has been reported to them already or not.

Maybe a websearch will have some consumer action type forum where this has been done to point you in the right direction? :)

  3. Can you run your hand along underneath it Tabba? Think that's only place it would be.

I can confirm the underside of the spoiler is smooth as a baby's nether regions, you can see the same in the second pic. I would think the stamp would be under the sticky rubber pad on the bit that meets the boot on the struts, if it is anywhere.

  4. Darragh's Sports-M didnt have a TRD-Sports-M Spoiler.

As for the one in the listing It looks genuine to me, its also in a genuine Sports-M colour too.

Cant comment on whether mine has a stamp on as I have never removed it but my scoop and skirts have TOYOTA stamps in them.

  5. The 2 million mark was passed in 1981, 3 million in 1986, 4 million in 2001.

Gens 1, 2 & 3 account for three quarters of all Celicas, 4, 5 & 6 make about a quarter, and the 7 is what killed off the Celica name selling just 200,000 worldwide.

Im amazed at how many the 1st 3 Generations sold, makes the last 4 look like peanuts.... For some reason, I thought it would be in reverse with the most being the last 3 Gen's..

  6. and what did you do to draw the attention of one of thames vally`s finest lol

Umm nothing really actually. This was when my car was just parked up outside my house and he just turned up and started examining my car. I watched for 10 mins before I went out and asked him what he was doing. The reason he gave was this "I am checking all car tyres in this area in case they are illegal." So I replied, "OK, if the tyres on this car were illegal, who would get the points as its obv not being driven?" He said "The registered keeper!" I laughed hysterically, took this pic and went back inside. After a few more minutes he left without lookin at any of my other cars, or any of the others in the street.

In the small town I live in, situated in Oxfordshire population approx. 40k I am one of few people who have had modified/performance cars over the years. Got stopped, searched, asked to produce documents, followed for miles without getting pulled etc etc all the time..

  7. pah, stupid! they can't do anything if the car's parked. maybe you're waiting for a new tyre to arrive, and then you'll book a mobile fitter to replace it.

    what a jobsworth

My tyres and rims were 2 days old when this happened so he was obv blagging and looking for something else. notice he has his notebook and making notes too....

  8. This copper used to hound me. On this day I was at home, chilling, the car was parked outside my house, so the copper comes into the street and starts looking at my car in great detail. I watched for 10 mins before I went out and asked him what he was doing. The reason he gave was this "I am checking all car tyres in this area in case they are illegal." So I replied, "OK, if the tyres on this car were lillegal, who would get the points as its obv not being driven?" He said "The registered keeper!" I laughed hysterically and went back inside. After a few more minutes he left without lookin at any of my other cars, or any of the others in the street. Wierd Piggy that one. :/

  9. i get pulled over in my mk5 golf (modified) left, right and centre cause they seem to think im a drug dealer, its so much hassle, once they searched my whole car, took the spare wheel out and everything, once they had finished searching and didnt find a single thing, they left my car in a mess leaving me on the side of the road putting the spare wheel back etc, and just the other day i got pulled over by traffic police, said my front tints on my golf are too dark, lool i laughed at their faces and told them thats a crappy excuse to pull me over as i dont even have tints on the front windows, just the rear and then they ended up driving off

Had this many many times, they even looked in my petrol cap, and washer reservoir, and they are always disappointed when they don't find anything. In my town if you are 'of ethnic origin' and drive anything other than a taxi or something that looks like it costs more than £1k then you must be up to something. Nearly 20 years of experience of this. I never get pulled in the starlet tho lol

  10. Agree with Brian GT.

I used to get 'routine' stopped all the time, at least once a week, just because of the car I drove and the fact that there are some small-minded coppers in this small Oxfordshire town, who dont share the view that all are equal if you get my drift...

It took 2 months of photocopying producers and then sending a strong letter to the Chief Constable for the harassment to stop. Some coppers really are utter cnuts.

I also have some video of a copper stopping me for speeding whilst i was reversing into my garage hahaha. May upload it for a laugh later. :D

  11. Cheers Ghoully.

I've been stuck for inspiration but I think that I've figured out what route/theme I want the engine bay to go...

Now to source pipes and paint it....

Not forgetting figuring how to fit the panel.

    I'm throwing the gauntlet...

If you want some cardboard tubes to dress up your hoses I think i've got a couple lying around. ;)

The amount of bog-roll that we go through in this house means we have a endless supply of them haha :D
