Took today of to do my brake calipers but all its done is rain. At least I got my caps done,one less thing to do. Here's the finished product, really pleased with the result and mooks graphics are spot on.

I personally reckon it's easier. Also I had a lot of dirt and corrosion behind the cap.Got lots to do before japfest, front splitter and skirts to be fitted .

This might help. This is what I used to stick the caps back on to the plastic cap..applied a nice blob in the centre and round the edge. It fills the gap around the ali cap so hopefully no wet etc can get behind to corrode it again. B and q £5.50

So are they just like the plastic caps I have after removing the ali disc.

What are slugsters caps daytona. The laqeur seems to be going off pretty quick. Would love to leave them a few more days.

That's what I've done. Luckily I have today off. I took them off yesterday afternoon rubbed them down and added base coat and let dry overnight. Laqeur this morning and another coat now ready to put back on later..put a nice thick coat on second and don't look to bad now.

The rear is ok as it's blank behind the cap but the front has the hub nut so I wouldn't recommend leaving it open for to long unless it's dry.

I removed it with a sharp knife. I found it easier than trying to sand it still attached.

Yes used wet and dry but there was a fair bit of pitting. Was going to use alloy putty but the paint filled most of them. Araldite 5 mins for sticking back on. Should last a few years hopefully just don't put the first coat of laqeur on to thick and make sure the paint is well dry first.

Do I sand down the ali disc guys or discard it and just paint the plastic cap. Got some nice new decals from mook to go on.

Thanks. Mook did say use a base coat. I guess the better the surface the better they seat and stick.

I've got some new graphics coming from mook to refurb my centre caps and I know this may sound a silly question but can I remove the caps without taking the wheels off. Also mook gave me some advice on the refurb but can anyone who has done there's give me some dos or don'ts. Thanks

Wow is that all wrapped. Had a go for the first time this year but the centre console around the clock gave me a real headache. I'm not very happy with it and may have another go in the new year.
