Just passing the motivation down a few generations mate, nthnmunky used to do it whilst I wa sat thinking, you jammy twat haha Tuns out he was an enlightened one & boosting a 2zz never grows old
The tune is so aggressive that you cant do owt but nail it everywhere
A few generations iv mistaken how old you really are haha gramps [emoji38][emoji39]
I know the feeling you got a few years ago mate, iv yet to have a ride in a boosted 2zz yet...would love to soon. I'd be the same as you mate hard not to put the pedal down even now on a stock engine. Cams and pulleys won't make it any better.
-
I hear that, there hasn't been one day since being boosted where I haven't stepped out of her without tingling with adrenaline! :/
All this boosted talk is killing me, you've spent enough of my money recently Joe now stop it! [emoji6]

Exactly, to all of us owning our cars isn't just owning a car it's also our hobby
I look forward to spending a day with my car tinkering and driving just like others like to go fishing, play with train sets etc... [emoji4][emoji4]

haha, loads of people adding masses amounts of sound deadening, and im here like, what else can strip out... Because Racecar!!
Would love a shot in one thats been fully sound deadened to see the difference though!
I know what you mean, in kinda torn really
It's not my daily anymore so I don't really need it but I dunno, it's not that heavy only add about 2kg so I don't mind that much I can strip something else out to make it up easily enough
I'd like a ride in Myk's, should be dead quiet in there
-
^^^ I used that stuff and it's some sticky s**t but good to go with it.
Good to hear so it does the job decently then? I'm not looking for miracles just a bit less road noise is all
And it's only the clear film I peel off to reveal the sticky back and leave the other side right? The shiny tin faces upwards...

Just want to confirm that is the right plug for my precious
And is it an iridium? Can someone also break down what the whole iridium thing is please
All I know is iridiums are superior to none...I guess
-
Ahhh right that's cleared it up I was thinking iv had no real problem with the paints
Cheers for the heads up mate ill be returning my alloys in near future
-
Lol are you saying that about the etch primer or in general?
-
They sell their own brand etch primer too mate, I was just looking today lol I think theirs is 6.99 for a 500ml can
-
Yup lot of work but a lot of reward!
-
Nice cheers lads
Well ill get my filler, I'm thinking 4 500ml cans of alloy wheel paint and 2 cans of alloy wheel laqueur I guess and see how it goes
Might go for white like yours Wilo they look superb

Ahh nice not a bad price either. Looks like halfords will be the one stop shop then.
Cheers
-
Can anyone recommend a decent filler they have used before?
And a good hard paint? Ill be going for gloss black, I know halfords have an alloy wheel paint and lacquer range.
I have 6 days off coming up and want to refurb my alloys patiently and properly
Cheers
-
Haha cheers Dan, I got it back on now want too bad like you said
Got a trowel in between it and the block and once it started peeling I just pulled it off with my hands not too bad at all!
Wasn't any proper sludge in there really just black oil, I'm surprised at the colour of my oil after about 3000 miles, but that oil should act as a flush now the good stuff is going in
And against recommendations I ran an engine flush through it for 5 minutes
-
I'm dropping and cleaning my oil sump today on my gen 7
What is best to clean it with? Should I use a product or just wipe out the sludge with some cloth?
Iv got some basic high temp liquid gasket that should do
Any random pointers appreciated thanks

To get it more back to oem size your looking more at a 225/35
-
Not really, the short shift is shorter at the top but longer at the bottom.
That's the reason for the spacers.
Without the longer throw at the bottom, this would make shifting pretty hard.
Oh really? I'm sure when I sized them up next to eachother they were the same, just assumed the spacers worked in some other way
Ha well there goes that idea -.-

Been looking for 9 months john. Not prepared to pay bonkers money or spend all day searching the planet so chances pretty slim to fcuk all.
I might just get the ebay one and find a local artisan to bend it like Beckham, which is one option. So I am told.
What I was thinking for future, and another spin on getting a bent short shifter, was just cutting the oem one down and re-threading. I could cut it easily enough and I'm sure a metal working place wouldn't charge much to thread it.
As iv already bought and installed the eBay short shifter ill leave the spacers in the bottom of the shifter cage and just swap out the stick...shazamm an oem quality short shifter
Whats your plans for your motor over the winter ?
