  1. Friends of mine have made similar comments regarding my car and its age, suspecting there'll be power loss after all these years (Y Reg, 140), perhaps they are right?

Now I don't know if I'll get in trouble or frowned upon for admitting this - But at least, according to the dials, it'll still hit it's paper figure top speed . So can't have lost too many ponies.

  2. Same as you and yeah I love having something different. How does the gen 7 compare to the Golf? Most of the people in my uni class either have typical student cars like corsas and fiestas (fair enough if they just want a cheap run around to get them through uni) or financed ones they're struggling to pay off

There's no comparison to the Golf, the Celica performs better in every regard, just as comfortable, the boot is surprisingly spacious, some of my larger friends may groan in the back but .. Not my problem! And yeah I have no qualms with a cheap runaround Corsa or Punto or whatever, I don't like Mr Financed Vauxhall VXR though! haha

  3. I wouldn't consider myself an average Celica driver. I'm 22, Uni student and been driving for 6 months. This is my second car after owning a Golf for 2 months. The Gen 7 isn't a typical student's car I would say, so I get a few head turns probably people wondering how somebody who is (and looks) so young can drive one of these. I quite enjoy it. I think people not in the know overestimate the price of these cars

  4. We've already figured out that they're from a McLaren :P but we've said it could be replicas. The roof's a bad cut out agreed, but that's not to say the wheels are photoshopped on. If it is it's a very good photoshop.

I believe they might be photoshopped but not a very good job if they are, the 12C uses a 20" 11J wheel at the back, and I think a 305 tyre, They just don't look that big on the photo. If they are skinnier and smaller replicas I agree they look awesome!

Edit: Sorry I didn't see Munky's post, practically explained everything I did but better!

  5. Think it's something to consider as well that I don't believe the treadwear index is universal across all tyres. Inter-brand you can compare, so the Nankang NS2-R's 120 is less durable than the 200 rating on my Nankang NS2s, but that doesn't mean to say they'll last as long as a different brand's 200 rating.
