  1. Naww don't be daft, was just an added bonus that's all. Just read online that the wet grip is a 'C' class. Does that mean much?
  2. To be honest I can afford more, but I didn't think it would have been worth it. Clearly it is! It's a shame though, that tread looks great
  3. Nankang NS2 - 205/50/16. Just a quick question as I don't know much about tyres. These tyres are £43.95 a tyre, have the rim protection edge on the side wall, and have a V speed rating (150mph) keeping in mind that my 140bhp celica wouldn't go near that speed. I don't take my car to the track, I do motorway journeys every day to work, I drive reasonably but I do take it for the occasional enthusiastic weekend drive. I'm wondering why these tyres wouldn't be a good idea? They're cheap for what they are, and they even look fantastic. For what I've said above, is there any reason not to get these tyres? They seem like a bargain to me. Thanks!
  4. Ahh right. I've always loved 4300K's because it looks a spitting image of those on the BMW's, Audi's, etc. People see them and it instantly registers as a 'newer' type car. That said, 55W lowers the 'K' temperature slightly over 35W because of the power output - so in theory a 55W 5000K would look very similar to a 4300K 35W, if not a bit brighter and a bit bluer. I might try this...
  5. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290691653831?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I've got these - they're completely white with that lovely blue / purplish 'HID-esque' hue to them. Really bright, I treat them as daytime running lights. I'll get pictures when I can
  6. You still get a blue hue with 4300K's though Photo was white balanced too.
  7. Well it looks fantastic (having the paint detailed and corrected in February), sounds great, runs brilliant as I keep everything fresh and always look after what's under the bonnet. Can't see why what I'm doing would be a bad thing
  8. Pure poetry my friend - so much so that it's going into my sig!
  9. "Look after a car and it'll look after you" is what I've always stuck to. They do know about the oil problem but know that it's fine when it's kept on top of. My mother doesn't drive, and she only says things now and again like "Shouldn't you take more care with a car with that mileage?". It's my Dad that's the worst... He drives a VW Passat TDI 130 with 240,000 miles on the clock. He puts his foot down but doesn't red line it. Ugh, the cheek.
  10. Good bit of advice, nice one Ohhhh, gutted! The build quality on Jap cars is outstanding though LMFAO! If I said this I wouldn't see my ass for dust. This has definitely made me feel a hell of a lot better about my car. Cheers guys, you've been fantastic
  11. OHHH COME HERE GUYS *huge virtual hug* Lol. Cheers guys, really made me feel a load better about it all
  12. Well that's what I keep thinking - but the oil is always kept on top of, and I've changed the air filter, spark plugs to iridiums, oil and filter change, flushed the engine with sea foam, cleaned the maf, run it on V-power and use Castrol GTX whenever I can. Surely that's fine?! Really?? How does the engine sound? Any rebuilds in its life?
  13. My point exactly. Really hits a nerve whenever he mentions it. We get along great normally but I've just told him that he either doesn't comment on it or he doesn't step foot in the car.
  14. I've got a Gen 7 140bhp with 140,000 on the clock. I've done a service when I bought the car, and have looked after it endlessly. Here she is: But I'm forever hearing off my parents: "Bloody hell be careful when you put your foot down - that engine's done a lot of miles", and "Oh god Ger don't do that! The engine's going to go bang with the mileage on it!". Excuse the language mods, but it's fucking pissing me off. I don't drive like an idiot and only put my foot down when there's a time and a place. I agree there's some truth in his words, that a higher mileage has to be looked after - but I DO look after it. What he's talking about is never hitting the red line, never going into high revs. It feels as if I should sell up right now, and spend god knows how long all over again saving for another damn car with lower mileage on it. I was in a cruddy situation when it came to finance for years - I'm not now and FINALLY have the car I wanted. I was paranoid when buying a higher mileage car, but took comfort to people off here. So agreed it's higher mileage but I love it. Now I'm having it shoved down my throat that I shouldn't go putting my foot down in a sports car because of this?! Normally I wouldn't care, but I wanted this car for years, went through a horrendous break up with a long relationship girlfriend, got back on my feet with money and now that I finally have my pride and joy that I've wanted for god knows how long, it's like it's being shit all over because of this. So angry.
  15. Fantastic - I'll get some pictures up in the light tomorrow, just so you can see. The creases aren't bothering me much, it's the shiny surface and discolouring that bugs me. I'd love to get all of it back to satin black. Thanks Mondo
  16. Aww, nevermind then Well what about colour restoration? The leather is shiny and is turning slightly yellow in areas that have been rubbed down extensively. Isn't there some sort of dye you can purchase that brings the colour back?
  17. It's not that bad at all. The crack is less than an inch, but there's wear folds and creases across the seats. Any products I could use that would help get the creases out and get that satin finish?
  18. Is there any products that are any good for repairing creased and cracked leather? I'd love to smooth out the cracks and get that satin black leather effect again. Cheers!
  19. Cheap £3 SMD LED lights off eBay, similar to the ones that mooney6000 posted.
