  1. Just make sure you go to somewhere that is experienced with welding stainless. A custom exhaust place might end up being quite pricey. Have a drive around some industrial estates, you'll usually be able to find a small manufacturing place that will be able to do it for you. I'd shop around for a few prices too if you can

  2. I would go and them you can say the item is not as described to him personally and he then can't list you as an unpacking bidder or time waster and see if you can get the price down due to the damage

    What?

I would say drive the price down a lot for the damage etc, but if he wont budge it walk away and bill him for your fuel for deliberately misleading!

  3. Mine's in the same place James, but it's only a slight surface mark. I'd suggest filling and covering with super glue, then once it's dry sand it back to shape.

On fitting mine (or attempting to) I've found that the screws supplied are either too long, or there is not enough clearance underneath, and DO NOT use the original screws for the metal ducting, mine simply shattered the fiberglass fittings that weren't drilled in line, or large enough. I don't want to tighten the mounting screws, worrying that something similar will happen.

I think I'll have to get the dremel out and grind the thread off the bottom of the screws. Fiddly as fcuk this will be, trying to hold the scoop, washers and now the duct (because there's nothing left to mount it onto) on the top of the bonnet whilst trying to tighten the screws from underneath. It seems like it would have made more sense to make it out of a softer plastic and embed the screws into it so all that would be required would be to tighten the nuts underneath. I haven't ruled out cutting the heads off the screws and threadlocking some studs in, fitting with the original nuts.

Overall, honestly I'm a little disappointed, but it's nothing I can't work around. Sorry if I insult you Ray, just trying to be completely honest and help others to prevent them from making the same mistakes as me. Your parts are usually spot on

  4. Just opened mine as well, actually very tempted to leave it as is so it stands out more against the black paint ;-)

I'm thinking the exact same thing, slight chip/crack on a front corner, but it will be fine once prepped for paint. A neighbor took it in so hey ho! Other than that, it looks superb quality and will be going on asap.
