  1. Jason Addison at Addison Tyres in Princes End Tipton did the refurbishment for me, but I think he sent the buckled one to someone else for straightening. Did a good job, it was quite buckled but they straightened it and filled a couple of deep gouges.

(This isn't the set I had on the car before, it's another set I brought on Ebay to swap between summer and winter tyres).

Probably Alloy Weldcraft, they do the repairs for a lot of the big chains too.

  2. Different wheel :-( it's the original alloy off the car,

I'll try it on the back then at least it will be better steering.

Shouldn't be too bad to get repaired buddy, just had my wheels done at pristine alloy wheels in Milton Keynes. They charge £50 a wheel but that includes removing the tire and balancing again so would be less if it's alloy only.

    Alloy Weldcraft are also brilliant.

  3. You shouldn't use a torque wrench for undoing nuts/bolts.

It's a precision instrument, not a fancy breaker bar. :)

My one is seized after me stupidly working in the rain, so now it is a fancy breaker bar lol.

I use my smaller one for precision stuff :)

Also just noticed the Screwfix link didn't work ;)

  4. I have only ever "flushed" by putting in new oil and filter of the correct spec but the cheapest I can find running for a few 100 miles then drain and replace with decent stuff. Usually do this when I buy a new car.

Just did this on my gen 7 and was amazed at the crap that came out after just 200 miles.

  5. Put in perspective the NS2s really aren't a bad tyre, the NS1 was the very hard compound "ditch finder" the NS2 is a softer compound.

Yes they are not the best tyre around but they are much better than a lot of the other budget crap out there (wanli, west lake, linglong) I had these in my last car and even put them through a few track days, dry grip is very very good much better than the "mid range" Barum shite I had on before.

So if you really are strapped for cash you could do much worse but you really should buy the best tyres you can afford :)
