  1. Did u get the medium size one? Then that's cheap - cheaper than my 1/2 cover by miles! I like the driver door zip and carrying case - well done! Let us know when it arrives! Oh - no, not Halfords! But, they do sell some cracking products (non-Halfords brand anyway)
  2. Ouch! and Double-Ouch again! Hats off to u If it was me, I would be crawling on all fours in agony - yes I am wimp at the 1st sign of pain Anything broken?
  3. Hmmm....always thought if I get a set of winter tyres I will put on a set of steel rims coz cheaper. Never thought about alloys... Did anyone compare the cost of your winter alloys to steel rims and what was the price difference? Even more interestingly....did anyone buy a different size winter alloys and different profile winter tyres too?
  4. Cheers Mate Shaun take note - u'r getting a full cover! I'll see when my arrives (1/2 cover) if the extra side straps will withhold the wind and after 9months will see how long it will last
  5. Ouch! Well, am sure it hasn't stop u from enjoying off-roading if u still got the quad
  6. I agree - winter tyres are better for when temp below 7degrees - so snow does not have to be factor....
  7. I'm still lost on the sewing bit - nevermind - lol I'm sure I'll get there oneday!
  8. U know wot? I just couldn't get my Avatar to work.... ....I tried different formats and different sizes - nope! In the end, I thought what the hell, just put any ridiculous gif from the internet and found this......and it works! Enjoy! Wait - <Wayne coming round from brain dead.....> The roof is actually multi-layer? I looked at one of the stitching from the outside....then located it on the inside, and its just a single layer cloth?!!! I understand abt the glue u recommended from ebay (apply from outside) or as u just said apply from inside and then a tape on top. But, if I sew the tape into the cloth, the sewing must go thru to the outside?!!! Hence u still see the stitching? I guess, I am just to old (or too blokey with all this sewing 'wumin' stuff) lol I have a solution! Just GLUE from inside and then tape on (glue will hold tape) - no stitching! Waterproof, and nothing to see from outside apart from a small slit/tear
  9. Do we need to TRACK the winter tyres? Then re-track the normal tyres when we swop again? After the strong vote of confidence taking the celica's out in all seasons (plus izzy even with the hood down) - I am incline to take mine out too! Any Gen4's out there in the snow today?
  10. That's amazing with those wide tyres - u must be trained on skid-pans etc Hats to u sir for braving in a 'down' hood vert in winter snow! Nice on on the down pressure - I should do that to mine too - driving hopefully no-snow tomorrow to Bristol from Yorkshire! I thought the narrower the tyres the better in snow? No? Yes, me too for now (Gen4 at home, Subaru to commute) I am lucky so far, as to have a summer car (gen4) and a everyday/winter car (Subaru) - for now, until my Subaru gets sold. I agree - I still need to justify on winter tyres. When I am down to one car (just Gen4) - I may have to fork out on winter tyres just to protect my baby vert that little more from accidents
  11. lol - still brain-dead. So, u sow the headlining (or the roof)? If the roof, then dosen't the sewing thru the tape and thru the roof make it leak? Nice cars! I need to look up what a glanza is ...is it a Starlet?
  12. Sorry a bit long-winded or not to the point, so wondering what others are doing abt winter driving....
  13. Lol - after all that and u simply bought a new one ?!!! Sorry, brain-dead can u run thru that again? I am not sure how the top is made waterproof? Is the outer cloth waterproof? Or the under layer (head lining)? If mend the headlining, does the cloth leak not run into the inside of the car on the edges of the headlning (if I don't mend the cloth as well)? Where did u get your new one from? I may need one too (mine's a JDM Gen4) What car(s) have u got?
  14. And if u have a vert with a leaking roof? Hence I was saying to Shaun I paid a bit more for what sound like a better cover - though there is no guarantee until I receive it. It has side straps that hook under the body as well as ones that hook onto wheels (most cover only got hooks for wheels) and 'suppose' to be breathable.....only time will tell ....
  15. Yeah, seeing everyone had the same RED pose from the front, I thought I change it to my nice alloys....but the site just wouldn't allow it. I tried JPG and PNG - didn't work. Post a HELP on the GENERAL forum, but someone decided it was better in the MISC OFF CHAT section - not sure anyone will see it there! Any ideas? Well, better than mine 5.5hrs journey from Cardiff with 3hrs stuck in traffic. If weather conditions are good, u gonna have one hell of a fantastic ride back - leave the hood down!
  16. Yes - and that quad bike had no problems overtaking in the snow! Wish I had AWD on my Gen4 to do the same
  17. Yee-ha! Look after it on the way back - road conditions might still not be idea....and pics pics pics!
  18. The thought has crossed me mind...but am penniless at the mo since purchasing the Gen4 way over my budget How abt these set of winter wheels?
  19. i bet she got her own back at delivery, tearing your hair out during labour :-) u must av been one ell of a driver (or u got winter socks :-) I assume gen7 are fwd. So all in all pretty good all rounders in snow. Noone has a gen3 on here and been on slow?
  20. coz i ll be driving the gen4 rain or shine (apart from snow - classics dont like salt/grit) I got a 1/2 cover just for the hood. Someone here say if u go for a full cover make sure: 1. Its specific for your car 2. Its got a fleece internal lining
  21. Jerry cans lol? An hour in trafic wot would usually take 20 mins :-(
  22. u wouldnt regret shaun if the gen4 is parked outside or away on hols!
  23. I bet it seems like forever waiting for your Gen4 I yet to make full use of mine (curse the snow!) Thks. I'm still catching up with all this celica-speak and different celicas. another silly question,is the Gen7 the latest incarnation? And there is no GT4 for latest incarnation?
  24. AWD - Now I understand why. U shouldn't be going side-ways, unless your speed does not match your road condition Are all Gen7 AWD? ah, just noticed your's a JDM - any diff to UK Spec? Winter tyres? Ok! And in an auto?
