Brass gear linkage bushes - bought on Fleabay but it looks like they came from AMS

For NOS you'll need to go to a NON projected nose plug and a colder grade from what I recall.
I didn't bother changing to non projected nose on my 4A-GE when switchng from 25bhp jets to 50 bhp and it melted the tips off a plug and blew holes through a couple of exhaust valves.
Ouch, I'll try and avoid that happening. Thanks for the heads up. I think I might run standard plugs and change them for the days I'll be going down the quarter miles.

Other than getting Iridium plugs, which in my case usually means fitting then completely forgetting when they are due to be changed, does anyone have any good advice on spark plugs?
I need to change mine soon but I am also fitting the NOS kit in the summer so I'm wondering if I need different plugs for it (maximum I'm going to is a 75 shot) or whether I should keep standerd plugs and change them for the days I'm going down the quarter mile, which will be the only time I use the NOS
Any thoughts out there?

I was surprised at the lack of power in the Lexus Dan, I have to admit.
-
But didn't.
I was looking at a white Lexus IS200 Sport as I fancied six cylinders and RWD again but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
I've poured too much blood sweat and beers into the Gen 7 and there's still loads to go so I'll be around for a while yet

My short shifter from Sh3p. Cheers buddy.

It's here. And I'm off tomorrow. Fingers crossed I can get it fitted.

A bit of Deep Dish goodness and wheel hub..
i went for the real leather instead of Suede for the durability..
Oooooo, where did you get it?

I suppose I'd better start a build thread soon.

More weekend fun.

There is some in the filter
Even taking that into account Bill it's never equal.
The day it happens I'll have another thing to worry about! Lol

After changing the oil I have never, in thirty odd years of working on cars, had the same amount out as I've had to put in to get it to the same level on the dipstick.
It didn't matter if it was an MG or a Mazda, a rotary or a piston, bike or car.
Maybe NASA should look into it...
Lol

Will be interesting to see the final results and costs.
Are you coming at the scottish car show?
I'll be there Dan. Costs at the moment include one FTO gearbox (which raised the cash) and I'll need a pulsoid rebuilt at a cost of £61 plus postage. Add in various pipes and that it'll be around £100 from my pocket.
But as I said, then I will need at least a wide band lambda for tuning, then a set of pistons when I burn a hole in them, etc, etc, etc!
Lol

Are you running on stock internals?
Yup, which is why I will be so careful. It's far too easy to rush off and blow things up and this is my daily driver.

Is it not expensive to maintain? I can't see refills being cheap.
I've not got that far yet, the Mrs thought it was for show for about ten minutes then stopped deluding herself.
It's about seven quid a lb and I've got an 11lb bottle so about eighty quid for a refill. Which is still cheaper than a turbo or a charger, lol

Hang on... doth my eyes deceive me?
Is that a canister of Nitrous-Oxide my good man?
Will this be the first Nos powered 7??
Haha, not the first in history definitely as I've been reading a few horror stories online which will make me very careful about the instal. It's a progressive kit so I can at least start with a slow 25 shot and work up to around 50.
Then I'll get addicted and start spending money... again!

Not quite in the post as I had to collect it but it still needs shown off.

Got a wee bit of tidying up to do then source some 295mm discs and pads before fitting but they'll help with what I'm picking up tomorrow.

Some avensis calipers
Mine came yesterday

Thought I'd fit it and do the wet sanding at a later date

Are there "best" HIDs for the Celica?
in General Celica Discussion
Posted
I know this might be a fairly subjective thing but is there a recommended set of HID lights for the Gen 7?
I am finding in my dotage that the lights just aren't quite bright enough. How the hell I coped with the rubbish headlights that were in the cars I used to run around in as a kid I have no clue. Probably a heady mixture of youth and stupidity
