  1. I had a dry cell in mine.It was fitted in the boot in front of the flap where the jack lives(check out my mod thread for pics).I eventually changed it back to a ordinary battery as the alarm would drain it if i didnt use the car for 3 or 4 days.I gave the dry cell to a mate for his camper van but still have the mounting frame if its any good to you

  2. you could just take the top part off fill it with silicone sealant then reseat it just make sure thers enough sealant in there to just squeeze out the side to seal the hole then just wipe it clear dont this to an ariel i had on an old vauxhall

 Carla's got the right idea, just make sure every thing is nice and dry and the silicone should seal it.

  3. money where mouth is moment

i brought a solar panel to keep the car charged up , its a bit bigger than a normal plug in the fag lighter set up as im not convinced they have enough in them to work 100% , as you can see from the reflection its cloudy here and its banging out 15.2 volts into a jell battery ( looks less in the pic due to angle ) , the battery is fully charged at 14.3 and hasnt been charged by the mains

Whats the wattage on that pannel izzzy? The one i've got coming is abit bigger than normal to,but should fit nicly on parcel shelf.Gonna spray the silver edges black so it blends in abit.

  4. they are also known as Dry Batteries for those of you that havnt heard of Gel Batteries.

TBH I dont see the point in getting it...they are really expensive and the advantage is that you can orientate them in any direction.....thats all (maybe some weight saving). they are better suited to a race car where the battery it positioning in an awkward way and a dry battery helps prevent fluids from leaking which would happen in a conventional battery. A road car is designed to take a battery upright so I would rather spend the extra cash on other kit such as a grounding kit or an uprated alternator (in terms of electrical mods I mean)

    HTH

I agree but my car already has one fitted.looks a bit of a ball ache changing the leads back to fit a ordinary battery.

  5. Yeah, just spoke to them down in Hampshire.Turns out theres a stockest just down the road from me.Abit of a "how longs a piece of string" question as it depends on usage etc..... Was going to go for a blast while it was'nt raining but it wouldn't start :(
