Right now I'm confused lol I originally thought it was dot 4 but then looked on google and it said 5.1, but I would only be topping up.
-
So it is 5.1, cheers mate :-)

I've bought a new front caliper so will need to bleed and top fluid up, which fluid will I need? Is it dot 5.1?
Also if I'm just changing the one caliper do I only need to bleed that one?

I used be the same when I had my gen 6....loved it when it was all working then as soon as something needed replacing or something broke when Ive just spent loads of money I'd hate it! But as said above I just spent some money and enjoyed a good drive to remind myself how good they are, and I loved it again.
I bought a gen 7 140 a few weeks back and I love it but I'm sure I'll swear at it at some point!
Mine had a lot of rattles in the boot so I got onto them straight away as I knew it would annoy me, I found it just to be the trays either side in the boot and the parcel shelf. So didnt take long to fix with rubber strips under the trays and rubber piping on the aside edges of the parcel shelf.
If I was you I'd refurb the wheels, give the brakes a good service.

That's good! How long have they been on the car? Is it just that one
-
Well if you decide on a 6, member on here "viva la blokes" gt4 is on eBay for a steal!
-
I'm currently thinking the opposite, selling my 6 and getting a 7.
I actual prefer the look of the 6 but I wouldn't mind something a bit newer and lower miles.
But I've done so much to my 6 it's hard to part with it. As you mention fuel tanks can rust and leak like mine did a few months back but all was sorted for £160. Fuel filler pipes always end up corroding and leaking but are a cheap part to replace plus bottom of the doors rust.
I do love the look of a modded 7 though! Lol I was no help was I! I'm as confused as you :-[

Nah no chance! I've had enough of welding today lol
-
Didn't realise the pipe goes all the way through! Looks like it's staying noisy then
-
I could do the mid box easy-ish lol I could do it when I fit the new cat and get some of the rolled stuff and push it in with a pole, the back box I'd just have to push in from the tail pipe, if I use that acoustic boa stuff it expands with best so hopefully wouldn't blow out.
-
Doesn't hurt to try I suppose, just don't want it to stop the flow of gasses to much
just repacked the mid box on the Rex..i used
Ceramic Fibre Blanket 25mm- Ceramic Insulation
have quite a bit left over if you want to give it ago ?
You have pm :-)
-
As above anyone used it before?
I've found this one on eBay, it says it expands with the heat so it won't blow out, I just want to reduce the noise slightly.
You get 400g 1 meter for £12

Glad to be of service lol
You could make a small plate for the foot rest?
-
You'd just see the side of it.
So as long as the tie bar is on it will be ok?
-
Am I ok to fit a metal plate in the plastic battery tray? I want to put a chequer plate there
-
Mine still looks like it's a pig that's been rolling in s**t!!! Everyday I think yodays the day I'll clean it all off and then it rains!
-
I'd rather make things myself mate, it's good when you make something and stand back and admire it.
Made the template tonight, and a small one for a bit at the back.
-
Top idea mate! I looking forward to doing it now
-
That's a good idea to get a straight edge! Cheers for that.
Well the blades are here and the screws, so now just waiting for the sheet of aluminium and the brackets.
-
I've given up cleaning it now! It's covered again!

I'll go for 2mm then.
What's the best way of going a out cutting it? I was going to clamp to a bench with some hanging off the edge and cut.
Will this be ok?
-
Is the aluminium as rigid as steel sheet?
-
Cool will do, yeah I'll file down all the edges and sand them then carbon wrap it all
Which brake fluid for my 140?

I know 5.1 can be mixed with 3 and 4
