I went from a gen 6 25th anniversary to my current 140, the 140 is quite a bit faster than the st, so I'm guessing the one you test drove wasn't te best so stick with it and test drive a few more.
If you find a good one it will feel right.
-
I used triple QX in my gen 6 and that made changes nice an smooth, I'm going to use that in my gen 7 as I have 3 litres left
-
I think it's 75/90
Not sure how much though
-
I'd go for a 25th as there a lot more rare than the sr model. The only thing is they come with 14" one off alloys which look so small.
Mine didnt stay standard for long
-
You'd be best getting the st202 gt mate, the SR and 25th have the 1.8 engine which can burn oil. I was lucky with my 25th I had as it never burnt any.
Would you be keeping them standard?
-
Hi what's the best oil for my 2004 gen7 vvti 140, 57000 miles on the clock.
I do an oil and oil filter change every 6 months which is just under 6000 miles
-
I've got them on mine and had them on my gen 6
-
its just as easy mate, takes a couple of minutes
-
Camber, tracking out?
-
There's a scoop in your colour in the for sale section now £25delivered
-
That's a bad dragon sticker!!!
Bonnet scoop is just for nuts to undo on inside of bonnet
For the boot struts there's a topic in the gen 7 section with links to new ones
-
Welcome back mate, I sold my black 6 and bought a 7 a few months ago
-
Looks like trapped moisture probably down to the cold temprature
-
Yeah that's the one mate
-
Yeah just use an extension on the breaker bar or socket wrench and that will easy reach the manifold nuts.
The nuts and bolts for the cat and the rest I got from B+Q
-
Good choice mate! Just give yourself plenty of time!
Have you bought a new lambda or are you using your old one
-
If the bolts snap when you use a breaker bar it's actually easier and quicker cos you'll just pull them out and replace.
Gaskets you'll need are the 1 between backbox and middle, then 2x cat gaskets and then the 2x down pipe to manifold.
I suppose though if your removing all you could just undo the 3 manifold nuts and the 2 that hold the pipe to the body of the car and then cut all the hangers
-
No you don't remove the manifold, you won't need an and grinder either, it's really easy mate.
Get some exhaust sealing paste just in case, but if you have new gaskets you'll be ok
-
Easy job mate so give it a go, just make sure you get new nuts and bolts because some will probably snap off, also give tcbparts a ring and order the 3 bolts that attatch the down pipe to the manifold as they tend to round off.
Oh and make sure you've got a deep 14mm socket for te manifold nuts ;-)
