Got a pic of your wheels? Are they a bright silver or a bit darker
-
I got led one's off eBay when I had my old gen 6
-
I've had a few recently, seem to get more now the valance, lip and dynamic skirts are on.
When I was getting the clutch done last Friday a bloke with his dad came out and said "nice looking motor that is t it dad" his dad said "I wish they where around when I was younger" then started saying something about pigeons in the engine lol I didn't really get that bit!
-
My rears did the same, they where fine before but once I'd pushed the Pistons in to fit the new pads they started seizing! So just replaced both calipers. At least if you need new calipers fronts are cheaper than rears
-
You'll have to let me know when your at three sisters! Not far from me! I used to bmx there back in the day
-
Did you get error free?
-
You should of bought them from Halfords and had them fit them lol
It took me 20 mins first time and then replaced them a couple of weeks back and only took 5mins. Just give it a go or you'll never know and have to pay someone every time

The handbrake is a drum brake set up. I'd get the wheel off and try and back the shoes off. You can do this by the turning the disc till the hole is at 6 o'clock, take out the rubber grommet and you'll see a cog, turn that with a flat head screwdriver, can't remember if it's up or down. Once loosened off you will probably need to give the drum of the disc a few sacks with a rubber mallet to loosen the disc.
You should then be able to take the disc off and have a look.
It might need a new handbrake cable if it's the cable sticking.

If it was mine I'd have all silver and just the centre of the lip black like you said, I can imagine it looking awesome
-
Yeah that could work mate, only one way to find out
-
All silver with silver lip! It would look clean and fresh :-)
-
I know how you feel mate! The petrol tank leaking before the mot was the final straw with my old gen 6, but I got another fitted and sold it, I didn't want it to be scrapped. I miss it sometimes but I'm still very happy with my gen 7!
You have got to draw the line somewhere with spending on it. It's an oil burner as well isn't it?
Just keep a look out for a nice gt or try a gen 7 or even gt86 if you can!

Cheers, picked them up sat and fitted today

Are these the right front pads for my gen7 140 facelift?

Freaky parts for discs and pads, try brakes international for calipers

My old gen 6s alternator died on me and that was similar, but if you've charged the battery and it still won't start I don't think it will be that. Not an immobiliser problem?

Buy a piece of chequer aluminium sheet off eBay, cut to size with a jigsaw or ask them to cut to size, file edges and drill each corner of plate and through the mat, then attach with small nuts and bolts.
That's what I did to my hyper mats in my gen 6. The holes are that small through the mat if you did decide to remove you wouldn't see them
