  1. Thanks you to all for your suggestions..the original motor didnt appear to work and this is why i paid out £63 for a secondhand one but the motor dosent appear to work on this one either so now its either a faulty unit or somethings wrong with the wiring on the car but help might be on the way in the form of ive just brought a double din unit to replace the aftermarket radio/cd thats in the car its being fitted in on wednesday this week and they have said they will look at the ariel when installing the new unit ive brought.

i got a flat head screawdriver in mine and pulled it up, now it stays up, you lucky you had radio2 i had just classic radio

  2. No it can be untaxed if you are driving it to the MOT station and back again only - but it must be booked in before you set out

you are right in 1 way, you can drive it to mot station without no tax, but its still got to have insurance, and then if it fails you must tow it back and not drive, as i was banned for that for 14 days and had 6 points, 3 years ago,

  3. Any car can do it but it it was a problem with the pre-facelift gen7 140 engine and it adopted the name as it is a fairly common problem.

Is it a heavy, crank type knock or more of a light rattle?

it sounds like exhaust shield rattle but i not got one, its is from bottom end mind, on flat its ok its just when under load,, ?????

  4. The date and location have been changed. Details taken from the TSS facebook page - "due to some unforseen circumstances we have had to drop Llandow as round 4 on the 13th August. We have however secured a new venue at RAF Cottesmore (Just off the A1 Nr Oakham) for the sunday 14th August"

thanks, just seen it on facebook, thanks helen

  5. Depends on what the better half has planned, i might take a run down.

  6. red are fast road pads and bite well, but bite really well when really driven hard with lots of breaking. from cold they are no better than standard. yellow will be shit for cold and day to day i think. dont quote me ont hat as i have never tried. but they are really for track hacks. need alot of abuse to get the best from them.

i got drilled and groved with cheap pads, good cold, but after coming down hill they shit, and after 2000 miles they nearly half way worn

  7. I think it would look ok if its thr right make and model of car, but since Lightning isnt a real model to me it would have to be an actull NASCAR to start with. Lightning is not a Celica, not even japanese so it not going to right whatever you do to it.

Thats why I think if you want to go down this route (and I love the idea) invent another character that could be in the next cars film. Could ave fun with this a ninja jap Celica with a sushi addiction or something.

like it, ninja celica sounds good

  8. Grooved/dimpled with EBC yellowstuff pads here. Zinc plated too, stops the bits around the disc face going rusty so things look nice. Stops on a dime as well :)

....but eats pads and yeas, ticks like mad. Makes it sound like a Ford

Thinking about it, my last set of discs were grooved TRD ones and they didn't tick. Hm.

thats what my clicking is then, sounds like a pull tie end not been cut off and its hitting sumthing as wheells are going round
