gutted to see this Martin!
there are some real bawbags out there....
Duct tape is probably the best covering for any holes in the interim, I know cars that have had duct tape on them for over 6 months.....
Sickening to think you will have to spend so much repairing the damage when you are innocent.

my tuppence for what it's worth, if you have a clean low mileage 190, you will at some point regret selling it, Agreed that the thought of having a 4wd monster will tickle in all the right places. think with head rather than heart.
Unless that is you have lots of free cash.......
Ideal situation is keep the 7 and buy a GT4.
look at it this way, in 5 years time which will have served you better?

According to terraclean the system actually flushes it out the exhaust, so I dont see it being like some additives where it ends up going no where.
would that not affect the cat? (assuming you have one!)
as with Slick 50 when that came out, I have reservations as to whether this works, but I am sceptical. I was always in the check the water and change the oil regularly camp. she now has over 170,000 miles and pulls like a train. may be interesting to take the engine apart once I swap it out.

on the few occasions that I do post anything, took it to the Post Office, so would presume Parcelforce.
Everything gets there and its insured!

Today I drove into a car park with quite a long approach road, there was a group of young guys in Hondas and I just happened to park near them.
the best comment ever
'Don't like Celicas man, but that thing looked f**ing awesome coming down the road'
That my friends is a win!

Cool.
Doing a bit of research on sizing, as I currently run 215 45 17 on the car, to drop to 16" rims I would be looking at 195 55 16 (nearest running diameter without going over - little enough clearance as it is )
Does this sound right?
Also speed rating of T should be ok yes?
Cheers

Need to buy 2 new tyres on the front and was swithering whether to buy 'proper' tyres as before or to buy 2 winter tyres.
Other questions are, would I be better putting winter tyres on all 4 corners. (full second set of wheels)
if so, what would be a better size for winter tyres, 16" rims or 17" rims.
and regardless of specifics, what is a recommended winter tyre to buy, heard good things about the Falken Eurowinter....
any opinions appreciated
Cheers

You could. No one could even tell if you did your business in there..
Either you think I misspelt 'sit' or you think it looks like a drug dealer / pimps car..... lol
and for clarity, I am neither a drug dealer, pimp or have accidental bowel movements...
Just thought I had to clarify!

I do like XT's.....
Could sit in that interior all day!

feel for you bud, these things are a big part of the reason mines is rattlecan. recently spent £5 respraying the rear end (in a layby)
having a shiny pride and joy ruined by others just gauls me!
Will admit however, I dont believe mine warrants an expensive and fancy paintjob! so therein lies the difference!
-
lucky one that bud, had the same thing happen to me on the way to Blyton except mine had stripped the threads so I couldn't even swap the bottom bolt to the top to let me 'limp' on. was 140 miles from home and had just pulled off the motorway....
lot to be said for engine braking.
my mate stripped the front corner from his girlfriends ST and drove all the way down to swap it over (yes I did a trackday with 3 Drilled / grooved GT disks and one standard ST front!)

at the rate those gen 7 boys go through oil, I can understand it......
-
Was aware of the Celica for years, but in 1994, saw my first Gen 6. I absolutely loved the sleek curves.
Post second marriage break-up, decided to buy 'a car i'd like' rather than 'a car I need'
And The Mistress was born...
Still think the Gen 6 is one of the best looking cars ever made and love driving her
-
the drinks holder is really impracticle on a gen 6.
'bout it really! all good otherwise
-
well done bud, was contemplating your SSIII myself and saw that car on Gumtree also I think, will the new owner be coming into the fold?
Looking forward to new build thread on the 185!

Although not strictly a physical part of the car, my favourite part is the respectful looks I get from those who see her (which still surprises me) second to that, my favourite part of the car is the part that keeps her tight and exiting........

Challenge:
A photo of either a duck, swan or a seagull coastgull any bird standing on your car.
And I don't mean women either a real bird. I have a feeling there'll be a lot of celica's covered in bread crumbs soon.
never saw the second part of that the first time I read it, the fat German bird in the caravan next to me was giving me funny looks when I tried to get her to lie on the car.....(I'll put it down to a language barrier...)
Hmmm need one of Dads chickens and some duct tape.........
-
Oh! dealership in Aberdeen! Hmmm.....
would be next weekend before I could get it on here however....

years ago my mum got a Mitsibushu Lancer that belonged to a butcher shop. As usual I had the job of cleaning out the car.
Lifted the spare wheel out and it was literally live with maggots. The car had been used to transport meat.......
-
last year I did contemplate looking to find a mint gen6 in Japan and bring her over here, but the total costs at the time were astronomical and that was before I even found a specific car. One day this will be feasable, but probably more so if importing multiple cars!
no-one on here would probably pay the equivalent of £3K for a 6 unless it was a GT4 (except me....)
I need to win lottery.......
-
Must admit I quite like the styling too. Just needs an engine transplant
and mibbies round the body off a bit and fit quad light.........
-
TBH It doesn't specify this Celica Club, although this is THE Celica Club, I could join with some of the local Gen 7 Hairdressers (ooops did I say that out loud!) and form a local 'Celica Club'
We must however have people in Wiltshire who know this car?
looks like there has been shitloads of money spent, but as with all modifieds, its personal taste.
A breaker with some imagination would probably make something from this (if there were any left...lol)
-
Sorry, but my car is allergic to Fords......
-
5 studVW wheels fit a celica, so do a bit of homework and you may strike a bargain.
As with most things. popularity can dictate aftermarket prices, which is why you can buy bolt ons for a civic for the price of a fish supper...
research can provide bargains, but can also bring heartbreak

My dad used to request 3 star on his old Audi (1980) at the local garage and caught the owner (back in the days when your fuel was filled for you) leaving it on 2 star as he was a cheap bas***d.. lol
