  1. right... to help with my need for speed I am toying with the idea of getting a cheap car to take on track days. In terms of reliability and speed a cheap Gen 6 GT is top of my list. However what are the laws of just using this car for track days? i.e. tax and insurance? I know tax laws have changed recently and have no idea what the rules are for just using a car on the track or for a single day here and there.

Can I declare a car as sorn and still park in on my street? if it is sorned does it still need to be insured?

I have no doubt these are stupid questions but if anyone can shed some light on it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Its already been replaced with a 2009 Audi A3 2.0 TDi 170 S-Line.. I may stick club stickers on my toolbox but free to anyone who sends me a self address envelope.

Safe to say I wont have another Celica in gen 6 or gen 7 models. :)

good choice on the A3 with a remap that thing would eat most standard celicas... if you don't mind me asking how much did you get px'ing your gen 7? Will be getting rid of mine soon and might px mine if it worth it to avoid the hassle of private selling

  3. right... I know nobody likes these threads so I apologise in advance but I have decided to part with my 140 and need to know what I should be asking for it.

Its a 2003 Gen 7 140 (picture below) It has leather interior with climate control, 3 post rear spoiler, T Sport wheels (recently refurbed in 'steel' colour), Scorpion back box exhaust and replica GT skirts. Done around 122k miles, has 7 months MOT and 6 months tax, no service history at all.

    thanks guys

  4. I rang up to see if my car was part of the recall for lift bolts or see if they had been done at any point and then asked about my service history. So she removed any information about the previous owners (for data protection purposes) and then posted to me :)

result! might have to pay my local Mr T a visit!

  5. Don't think I have service book, but I do have an email from Toyota with all the service history that was recorded with them. You think I should ring them and get them to record it aswell as document it myself?

sorry for hijacking your thread but how did you manage to get an email from Toyota detailing the service history? my service book has gone walk abouts but it was showing full toyota service history so would be useful to have this backed up

  6. its very hard to guage cos you see these on ebay etc making the 2k figure but then they are back on a week or 2 later because it was a friend of the seller bidding it up and they didnt sell ,i personally see it as a 2k car but i could be bias because its mine ,

I know what you mean, I've been looking at 190's recently and the prices seem to be so inconsistent... £2k for a 190 which has done 86k sounds like a good deal though!
