Would he not be interested in becoming a Corp member of the site? he must do other stuff like the Valance etc, he cna also sell promote his paint/fitting skills on here for more custom
-
Well seeing as some twat hit my car over the weekend and decided not to leave any details I guess I have to get a valance sooner than I thought.
they hit/rubbed/scrapped exactly where the valance goes on the drivers side corner. No idea when or where this happened as I only noticed this morning, but it was definately after saturday morning coz I hand washed the car then.
Might as well get valance fitted and rear bumper sorted/spreayed at same time.
-
I believe J03 bought his from this guy.
this Valance from Barnsley has been on my ebay wathc list for about a year now lol! I really need to start saving to get a valance its all I'm missing!

@ Briano
Just had my 4th year, then the Celica decided to try and kill me, so i'm killing it first
Longest i have ever had a car though, so there must be something in it
Seen your thread about this rich, sad times but I bet you've got a great folder full of photo's of your beauty of a Celi!
Been a member here for about 2 years, been into Celicas since 1981, first one was a 1978 gen 2 1600st coupe, then a gen 3 2.0 XT liftback in silver over blue, loved that car, now have a gen 6 SR, now thinking about upgrading to a late mdel gen 7
Sound slike like your heading in the right direction ;-) haha
My Celia will be paid off in Feb 2013 so really not long left and I will probably run her into the ground before I move on, unless I come across a good deal. I do want more power from my daily driver but I cant afford to costs. So my little 140 will do just fine for now. I'm more of a cosmetics kinda guy anyhow.
-
I've not attended loads of meets but I've been to a few good North East meets. Which included Nando's and Pizza hut's lol. But everyone at these meets did make them alot mroe enjoyable.
Longer than the club has existed with the same gen7
I can imagine we have some lifers here lol.
-
Just had a mail from the club as according to the Club Records I've been a member for 2 years now.
Which is correct, I picked up my Celi back in July 2010.
2 years later and I'm still happy to be a part of this club. My cars very steadily coming along to how I would like it. Even though money is getting tight and I cannot afford to put anything other than petrol into my car.
Bare in mind over the past few weeks I have been annoyed at some comments from friends about my car but at the end of the day I like it so they can all shove their comments where the sun dont shine!!
Out of intrest how long have people been in the Toyota/Celica scene or even just on CCUK. As this is only one of a few sites I actually both with, but I think thats down to the other members being a good crowed of people

cheers I'll give you a text after work
220 is a good price, my mate paid 300+ for the one on his Astra.
Alot of people recomend powerflow though.
-
For what it's worth I got a custom exhaust made by Powerflow on Saturday and im happy with that, axle back with a 3.5" tip
Sounds quiet around 2k RPM which is good but opens up if and when I give it beans
How much did you pay mate? I might have to come see this
-
Agree'd my car is almost 10 years old now.
and its still a head turner lol
-
Yeah although mines an early 2003 Facelift I never suspected it to be suffering from what we class as a pre-facelift only issue. Its not like our cars are unique and not amune to other contributing factors of engine issues.
I'll have a good look at it after work today.
also, I never noticed any performance/running issues when I could hear this 'rattle' sound. my car was still just as slow as normal haha!
-
Not good at all pal, good call though & really hope you've not done any damage. Did the 2.5 litres you put in bring it back upto max?
The 2.5 litres put me a few mm under the Max mark. I didnt want put too much in, as I dont know how much oil could be sitting below where your dip stick reaches.
i hope you haven't done any major damage, as a preface owner i got in to the habit of regularly checking mine ever week and before long journeys.
i think this isn't the first thread about a facelift engine burning oil though, if that is what it is doing. check the exhaust pipe, is it black and oily coloured?
I'll check the exhaust pipe later, take a pic and take some opinions on here. I also recoded the engine noise before I filled up. I'll see if I can upload and post on here for you to see.
I also hope I have not done any internal damage. at the moment I'm glad the noise has gone with the fill up of oil.
also for reference I used 5W40 Fully Synth Oil.
-
For the past few days I've been driving around with no Radio on, listening to a slight change in my engine tone. I noticed a kind of rattle sound between 2-3000 rpm.
So in the back of my mind I'm thinking - well I checked my oil a few weeks ago so must be something else. maybe a plug, lose engine mount or heatsheild...
Last night I decided to check my oil and to my suprise my dip stick was BONE DRY! must have been around 4-5 weeks ago I checked it and it was near the max mark on the dipstick.
Also, there are no signs of leakage as my car sits in the same place every day on my driveway. No oil on the drive to even suspect a leak.
Also, in order to find out what Oil I needed I checked my last MOT and Service certificates, which was done on the same day in Oct 2011 - 7 months ago by a Nissan Dealer where I bought the car.
It shows on my service they changed the oil and charged me for it. Now I'm thinking, did they really change it!
When I get home I'm going to check under the car as it should still be quite light, last night was too dark to check anything.
I just find this very strange as I have a 2003 Facelift Gen 7. so surely I should not suffer from any oil issues regarding my engine like on the Pre-Facelift engines.
Needless to say I'll make sure to check my oil more regular. I put about 2 and a half Ltrs in yesterday went for a drive and that 'rattle' noise at 2-3000 rpm has gone. I hope I've not done any damage, I find myself luck that I noticed the change in my engine sound, as I said to Mikey & Liam last night... If I had a exhuast system I probably wouldnt have noticed this rattle sound!
-
I came across this 306 last night, kitted up, huge exhuast that was mm's away from the ground. and a wish list of stickers on his back window telling the world of his mods....
so dual carradgeway... we pull away as normal, then he floors it, ( i can hear his beast exhuast crying lol) so i do too, end up right behind him... i slow down, bit mroe power and up his arse again...slow down... and right behind him again.... we get to the next set of lights...
I will not undertake anyone, i feel if they move over and let u pass, its more embarrassing for them lol
I decide to go into the left lane while lights are on red... this time he's not in my way.....I Look at him, laugh and away I go...
next time dont hold me up you french faggot lol!

Cheers guys I'll check the links out when I'm home, ebay is blocked at work lol
Dont use cable ties when you have MOT though, I was told by garage that they can fail you for using them.
-
Does anyone know the size the Plastic Trim Clips are on the L Shaped cover and Radiator cover?
M6 & M8 seem to be common sizes when searching for new ones.
or could it be a mix of both?
even better if anyone has a link to ones they have previously bought and used.
-
Unlucky mate!
hopefully you can get it sorted for Saturday.
-
his first paragraph mentions how his immobiliser kicked up a stink and disabled his car... and his second paragraph his dials inside the car dont work...
yeah mate your cars never let you down!
he should never be allowed to own a Toyota again!
-
my oh my, If I had the money I woudl buy it, take the spoiler off, and smack him around the head with it!
And then use it to shovel the snow off my drive when it starts to snow!

I do like your before/after pics Ben
-
my other half prefered my chaved up Clio..... and she even looked at a new ford KA eysterday, seriously... what have I commited my life too here? lol
all in all, she couldnt care less, a car is a car to her.
-
Mines a 03' Facelift and regular checks to the oil show no signs of me losing any as described in pre-facelifts.
Fully Synth was used in all previous services, all receipts are in the book, last service was a year ago, and every year b4 that... by the same garage which is only down the road from me
-
I've done 5,000 miles so far.
I just really cannot afford the £144 quid right noiw and TBH I have family members who can service the car for/with me, exactly the same as a garage will, for no charge and added bonus I gain more knowledge
rear trd valance on ebay any good? (barsley/south yorkshire)
