YES! YYYYEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111oneone
I just fixed my super-annoying boot area popping noise. Has been doing my head in for months!
Finally got someone in the back listening, and we identified that my high level brake light was the cause. Unbolted it, bit of self adhesive velco underneath, bolted back up, ziptied its cable a bit more taught......BOOM NOISE GONE
Out of all the work ive done to my car, that has made me the happiest, LOL
I thought the high level was bonded in place?

I once bought a car without a road test from a trader I had known for years, insurance was ridiculous, it was slow and tedious to drive and put me off the manufacture for life!
The car was a VW Golf Gti Mk2 8valve.
Now that was a bland car

Phil who now runs the above garage trained me as an apprentice at the Toyota main dealership I worked for.
My quote was "Phil taught me everything I know and I still know f@&£ all".
Phils quote was " I taught Andy too much and it lost me my job"
I haven't seen him for a couple of years, I will have to pay him a visit soon.

General rule for Mot is if it was fitted from the factory, it should be available at the time of Mot test. If you remove the rear belts, you run the risk of failing. Would you expect to pass if you removed the front seat belts? I have a 1960 series land rover which has no seat belts, but was made before they were mandatory so not required for mot. The Mot is a funny beast, you can fail for a cracked screen, but if you remove it and turn up with helmets and remove the wipers, no problem.
Agree with this, if you removed belts, seats and rear side widows you may be able to get it classed as a van.

Bulbs, brakes and steering?

You can remove the plastic front and swop them over, but it depend how the colour change was achieved.

Plug is different an will not fit.
One clock is from a car with manual air con and the other is from a car with climate control.
The manual air con has the outside temp on the clock, and climate control cars have outside temp on the heater control.
The give away is on the left hand side of the clock, either mode or 00.

I have Prius tyres on mine.
I know the 86 has them to aid drift and the traction/stability will correct you.
But I drive like a granny so I will be fine.
I'm still a retard though Kev:-)

I removed the pin from the connector block on my first gen 7 in 2001, I'm not a fan of cutting wiring looms.
But I have owned this one over 5 years and the buzzer hasn't bothered me.

If you drive like a knob in the wet in your mild mannered Celica put them on the rear.
In the old days they recommended new tyre on the front, the fronts wear quicker due to be driven and steered. But this leads to changing the fronts often but having dated rubber at the rear as they barely wear.
Personally I prefer to regularly move front to rear so they wear evenly and to replace all 4 at the same time when they are consistently shagged.
Never cross rotate introducing the spare each time as recommended in the manual, this will make the casing go out of shape.

The moisture may have stuck the shoe's to the drum, if you tap the drum with a drift it should shock the shoes off.
If this is not the case I would guess the one of the cable's are grabbing.

I think he means front coil spring lower cushion.
As the coil is compressed and extended they tend to shear through the rubber seat (cushion).
No need to replace them as new ones will split within 12 months.
Best to ask the garage to make sure though.

They are the same as fitted to the Price, Toyota decided to fit less grippy tyres to make it easy to get the back end out.
Gen 7 had 205 width tyres.

Hi Andy nice to see you back on here , Hope your Mrs's car is going ok too.
We traded that in 6 months back for a Hybrid pal, then the Hybrid got wrecked with the hailstones storm:-(

Ha, I would have a fancy garage if that was the case.

When you say "parked up" Andy , you don't mean . . . . . . . Nah, forget it
No, please elaborate, you've lost me

A mate put a grounding kit on his Civic Type R and it made the car idle better and improve drivability in town.
I bought one for my Celica 3-4 years ago......
And it is still in the Jiffy Bag under the drivers seat.

Why does the engine rev higher in 1st?I never used lift in 1st. It is a surefire way of wreaking your engine.

Well it runs!

The GT86 looks really good with the full on TRD kit or Aero. The base ones look really really boring.
I would love the Aero, but would definitely need to spend more £ on engine mods to improve its performance as its looks just don't match its performance in its normal guise.
This is the trouble with the GT-86, people are blinded by straight line performance, facts and figures. This is where hot hatches fit in.
The press get the GT-86 perfectly because they have gone beyond the back pages of "What Car" and actually tracked it.

Some years ago now Andy was the person who answered the first ever question I raised on here and his information was spot on,it made it impossible to go wrong . . . . . and he even supplied a set of templates I needed.
.Was a loss to the club when he disappeared but as far as I am concerned, dead pleased to see his name back on here again.
You must be mistaken, I'm a complete arse

I've never tried, I thought I saw a post from ams stating they were bonded in tight and if you tried to remove them they broke.
