you don't have to look at the ugly front!
What's ugly about this?
I've never thought the Gen 6 front end is ugly (otherwise I wouldn't have bought two of them!)
-
OK, a noob type question, forgive me but I've never driven a Gen 7. All this talk about lift and lift bolts, what exactly is it, how does it work and what does it do?
-
Beauty is all in the eye of the beholder, which explains why Charles Windsor is now married to a horse.
-
Haha come off it you! We all know you drove like Captain slows grandad to get that though!
I'm not saying anything negative about it or jumping the gun early by claiming all the benefits are bullshit. I just find it hard to believe that a tin of something makes this much difference. And am more than open to try it and prove myself wrong
Not disputing anything, don't worry
Just think it's kinda coincidental that increased mpg happens when the weather starts warming up. It's just scientific fact that warmer weather burns less fuel. I'm gonna give it a go for definite when I'm paid tomorrow, so will report back. My engine..even on 125k...is stunningly smooth and powerful for it's age and mileage already...so we shall see!
LOL, not taking offence at all.
Actually with my current car being a Vert I would expect mpg to go down, as I have the top down whenever I can, which rather f*cks up the aerodynamics.
-
But it is a 53 plate so it should not be the death rattle.
And it's done 140,000 miles, wouldn't the death rattle have become apparent long before it reached this sort of mileage?
-
Whatever it is, it needs a good detailing session on the paintwork! Claybar and Purple Haze!
And detangoing.
-
could easily put the extra mpg down to the warmer weather...cold winters make your car use more fuel...ipso factso!
But like I said, hope I'm wrong...if I try this stuff and a ploom of black shit comes out the exhaust...I'll consider it a success
Jesus...I'd hate to see your annual fuel bills
Hardly likely to be weather-related, this is my third year of Gen 6 GT ownership, and my car is my only transport for business. As I am a freelance IT tech serving SME's in the Oxon/Berks/Bucks area my mileage is always high, but that's reflected in my hourly rate.
-
OK, so for those of us thick enough to have missed the point, perhaps you'd care to explain?
Oh, and while you're at it, you still haven't explained where you got the "£50 per can" thing.
-
Well, perhaps someone can explain why my Gen 6 GT Vert has changed from averaging 320 - 340 miles from brimful to low-fuel light flickering (measured regularly over 8 months) to now doing anything from 360-370 miles from brimful to low-fuel light flickering during 7 fillups since I used BG44K. And it doesn't cost £50 per can, God knows where you got that figure, mine was just over £23/can. And I'm doing 500+ miles every week, so I think I am able to tell the difference in mpg.
Maybe you should try it and apply your own "objectivity" before telling those of us who rack up the mileage on a regular basis that we don't know what we're talking about.

Isn't this just injector cleaner? Injector cleaner works. It's basically just giving your car a good service.
No, it's quite different. Yes, it cleans injectors but it also clears carbon deposits from plugs, pistons etc. This will tell you what and how:
-
The front is clear but there is an orange filter built in, but I see what you mean.
Appologees...
-
Mine didn't. I bought my clear indicators from Cryselco, as here:
And here's the original as originally fitted:

Watching this with interest, I'll be doing mine later this year. Can't decide on silver (to match my car), blue or red.

Rocking Horse?

The Gen 6 GT, either UK or JDM, engine model number is 3SGE, surely?
-
I find his website a tad difficult - it seems there are different choices for a facelift 2.0 GT vert with a 3SGE engine. Which to choose?
-
Hmm, a 28-years old male?
-
<shock horror>
I don't need to check mine between services... never needed to, the oil level every 6000 miles has so far always been OK. I do the occasional dip, but I've never needed to top-up, either on my latest or my past Gen 6 GT.

Cheers, mate.
That link leads to some odd site, no mention of fish tank filter sponge...

What's the best way of cleaning a convertible hood? Just plain soap and water, or is there something better?

Get a set of easy-outs, inexpensive and they work!

Did it about 12 years ago on the bike (before the cameras). Great stretch of road, well worth the journey. 3 of us went there on our bikes - my Triumph T-Bird Sport, my mate's Triumph Speed Triple and another mate on a CBR600.
Lots of bikers killed/injured there in the past, hence the cameras.

£20 for the first year, £10 renewal thereafter.
That's a bargain... not even the price of a night out down the pub.

If any child car seat conforms to ECE R44.03 and R44.04 it is perfectly safe to use... any extra cost you might pay will be for eye-candy only. So it's perfectly safe to buy the cheapest seat you can find which conforms to the regs.
