  1. I like the idea of a Digital dash but at a reasonable cost, I just fear you would struggle to satisfy everyone's taste. I did ponder the idea of doing one myself, seen as neither of my GT4's have ODB output would be a challenge and good if I could get it right. Problem is I could see me only getting so far and no doubt would be half a job.

For the moment in the 165 I have plumped for an Acewell unit, after finding my temp gauge is buggered. I hate the thought of gauges all over the show can look very untidy. Would be nice to replace the rev counter in the 165 with a screen to do away with the some what unreliable Temp, Oil pressure, Fuel gauge and boost gauge. Dont think a circular screen is financially available this said.

To be fair the Acewell has a few little features like average speed, lap timers, adjustable temperature warning and even a rudimentary gear indicator that you program to rev,s and speed for forward and an input for reverse not that that is of much use im sure most of us know what gear we are in. Oh and it has an ODO on to make it road legal replacement.

Would like to see what you evolve from your ideas, may be interested.

  2. Do it yourself mate. Im using one of these spray gun they say it will work with small compressors just as well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Devilbiss-Spray-Gun-StartingLine-SLG610-1-3mm-/251038834961?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item3a7314a111

Ok so its not the easiest past time but I can do it im sure you can. I recommend you use a polyester base coat due to the fact it doesnt need baking and is touch dry in minutes reducing chance of bugs and other cack settling in. The lacquer is a little harder to do same principle.

  3. Its nothing to what it used to be. Used to have cars stacked about 5 high and you had to just climb around trying to get what you want. Seen some rare stuff there over the years.

Like you say such a shame for it to sit there it will likely sit there for another couple months they if they can be bothered then might rip the engine out though it on the pile with the rest and then crush the rest.

  4. see thats one st205 owner marginally upset :P

the bonnet doesn't bother me its the nose, its almost as bad as the pre-face basking shark.

since im offending other gen 6 owners here the ST and the ssi are slow and pointless :sofa:

At the end of the day there are many options out there, but if your happy with the 6 and could afford to insure it with a V6 then why not or there is always a put a 3sgte in there and make yourself a GT2.

Also I wouldnt worry about loosing money whatever you do with the car market as it is you are very unlikly to get back what you pay for anything.

  5. I think thats nothing more than a pile of semi mobile scrap....not worth £2000 in a million years....unless theres £2000 in the glovebox

Now you say that there is a bloke up this way bought a old tractor for like £700 from an auction of a Dead mans estate, tool box was lock but got it home and cut the lock off and found £20K in 20's in there!! :o
