I just bought that bung to get my car through its mot, it didnt silence the car that much and because the end of it is closed off the emissions couldnt be done with it in.
Hope this helps you.

Well the bung worked and i got my mot for another year, happy days. So if anyone needs a loan of a bung for their mot gimme a shout. Its a bung for a 4" can.
Cheers for all the advice.

Lets just say it went through mot with a wink. I wanna fix it yhough

Good shout on turning down the fuelling. If i could get someone to test the lambda and say it was definately that then i would happily buy a new one. but what i dont want to do is buy loads of stuff and not sort it if you know what i mean. I got the cat changed under warranty and the front lambda changed and it made no difference. I dont want to change the rear lambda and be told the front one aint working right. Its really really bugging me now.

My air filter is a blitz sonic power induction kit. My plugs were changed and made no difference and the maf is clean. It is deffo overfuelling though.
Does the high hc contribute to high co or vice versa? I was thinking of going down the ignition route to see if that was to blame.
-
cheers for the quick reply andy, i had a look around online and it says high hcs is usually down to combustion ie ignition parts etc and that would tie in with the backfiring from the exhaust sometimes and the slight hesitation it has. the co% has me at a loss as i have had the cat replaced and the first lambda changed and it didnt make a difference, i also bought another maf to put on it but when i put it on it was really rough and wouldnt rev properly so put the old one back on and it revved again. its been doing my box in for a while and i just want it sorted grrrrr.

ok so my car is failing on emissions, it has been running rough for a while now.
results are
fast idle test
co% max limit 0.300 actual 0.363
hc max limit 200 actual 449
lambda min limit 0.970 max limit 1.030 actual 1.049
second fast idle test
co% max limit 0.300 actual 0.380
hc max limit 200 actual 493
lambda min limit 0.970 max limit 1.030 actual 1.046
natural idle test
co% max limit 0500 actual 0.353 (only pass on the full thing)
I would appreciate any help on this as i dont want to just start throwing parts at the car,
Thanks
Martin

I dont know if the tester in question has taken these changes all the wrong way but I will stick this bung in and sit back and hope for the best.
-
The best thing about it is the same garage passed it last year.
-
Found a bung on ebay and it is only 15.50 so I am gonna buy that and see if it works.
-
Must be within the last year. I googled it and got no joy. I will wait till i am at home and look it up on a bigger screen than my phone. Quite annoyed about it though. It means a retest and me having to buy something i dont want.

This guy is friendly. Passed my emmissions with a wink so dont know what its all about. I will have to go shopping for a bung now.
-
sitting in the mot station just now and the guy said he had been trying to contact me before i went for my mot to tell me the regs have changed and that my exhaust now needs a bung to pass the mot. Has anyone else came across this?

Simples. Find a hole that has paint markings round it(means its known about) contact your council claims dept and request a claims form. Fill it in then wait.
I claimed successfully and got around 400 quid for a wheel and tyre.

Gutted for you dude, just keep the faith, tell yourself you are getting it this year and you will.

Its the best feeling in the world no matter how small the job is, just knowing you done it yourself makes you as proud as punch
Good luck

I had a thread on here a while ago about a mondeo st220, flying machine on the motorway but I'm sure I coulda had him on the bendies.
Audi 2.0t was an epic battle till I hit lift in 3rd, the guy was raging.
A 106 gti also kept pace with me through 1st and second before a speed camera slowed us both.
Its not till 3rd gear that I start to pull away from most cars, low down everything pulls away quicker.

Sent the celica in for its m.o.t and passed with flying colours, not bad for a 10 year old car.
Added bonus was it only cost a tenner.
