  1. Blimey - is that you Bryan? (with the rabbit?) you've changed since I saw you last!! New car looks great!

Didn't realise when you told me you had the night off that you had a weekend job 'buffing' cars tho.... :):lol:

What are the new/current challenges?? Seems the ladiez got overexcited at seeing a load of men polishing a naff car.....

  2. Iridiums should be standard? But I didn't know that at my last service and fitted standards DOH!

    If your doing a service, remember to replace the sump washer, often overlooked at the time...and according to my dealer a common fault for major oil leaks, and like Kev says, standard oil filter from Mr T is best (and cheapest too?);

Leads are probably best as OE from Mr T too, due to their weird shape, but probably expensive to boot.

When buying simple stuff like this, don't discount the main dealer - you might be surprised!

  3. Such a wasted talent, I'm gutted, regards, Darren & Michelle.

I'd make the suggestion that rather than people supplying flowers in abundance, that a donation to Perry's chosen charity(s) is more useful...flowers dry out and die, whereas a donation can make something blossom and grow?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that donating cash is a better way of remembering OUR comrade than spending cash on something that withers and dies? Let Perry be known for helping others, as he did in life, rather than wasting your cash on perishable flowers.

Although all people grieve in their own ways.....

Condolences Perry's family..I have true respect.

  4. so where was it you bumped into Katy then? She travelled oop north for a footy match, but doubt she'd book it into a garage for the tyres to be done (unless you went to Shuttys place!); as I've seen a g6 vert knocking around Warrington recently.....

And there's me thinking all Scots went Commando under their kilts.......... I could type more....but I won't...upset you by mistake.. :D

  5. Nice one Highroller! But a vert in Scotland? brrrrrr! Do you not like your wife of something?

You could have bought me one instead!

    Disks/Pads and a service on a '96 Celi are a gimme..they usually need doing...mines a 95, and I just did mine too..

Look out for rear anti roll bar bushes too (banging from back end); dead easy to sort; and cheap to do yourself..

Looks like you have a future classic in your hands! Hope all goes well for you!

  6. werd!

I don't mean to sound rude or anything, perhaps I am just a bit nieve when it comes to convertable's, but do they really differ enough to warrant a dedicated forum section?

Apart from the lid, what's the difference, many other celica's have leather interiors. Essentially, the vert is a GT, and apart from the back lights, they are very much the same. It's understandable with the GT4's as they have a turbo, different engine parts, drive train, 4x4, body work, costings and lots of other subjects.

My suggestion is to place the g4 topic into the g1-3 one.........

But the vert topic is a non starter to me.....

  7. I'm not sure if I missed the point here or not, but there's a big sticker under my bonnet stating that "The Iridium plugs should ONLY be changed every 60,000 miles" - I put bog standard plugs in, as I didn't see the message before buying the plugs, but next service I'll be getting Iridium plugs...

What's your experience with Iridium plugs vs others?
