If anyone mentioned the advisory comment, I would emphasize the "slight" as opposed to the "corrosion". If it wasn't too bad I would jack it up myself (the easiest job in the world with a gen 7), take some pictures, and add those to the advert.
I do, however, agree that GTs are a little overpriced. Let's be honest - and I owned one for four years myself, so I will happily argue with anyone - they are just a T Sport in a party frock. [Although, if I ever buy another one, I reserve the right to change that opinion].

Fair point. Although - if memory serves - the DVLA website was down (for maintenance and for an unspecified time) at the time.
I received the acknowledgement, and confirmation that I was no longer the registered, within a week. Apparently the new V5 took a little longer to reach the buyer, as he texted me, but all was good soon after for him and the fact I already had confirmation from them meant I had no reason to worry.

Yes, simple as that. Don't hand anything over, or sign anything (see later), until you know for certain the money is in your account. Any even half decent buyer won't have the slightest problem with that. I sold a car privately about a year ago, and had to check a couple of times until I was sure the funds had cleared into my account. The funny thing is that he was then a lot longer getting his insurance finalised, but that wasn't really my problem than.
With regard to signing (and sending off) the V5, I would send it off yourself asap after. That way if the buyer happens to commit a misdemeanour or two in the days afterwards you will be in the clear.

There's no shame in not always knowing. eBay listings are not always 100% clear, and you really have to know the cars (and the specific parts) to know if it's the right part or not.
I did look at that subframe myself not so long ago, but I thought buying it and keeping it in readiness for a future failure was taking pessimism a bit too for. It's always pleasing to know you're looking at the right part though.
-
That's great news. When I read the first post, I thought it sounds like it's just the rear subframe and - with a bit of willingness and ability - it's eminently fixable.
As others have said it's finding the parts, and garages that are willing and able, that's becoming harder.
It's great when you do though. And again, as said before, thank heavens for good forums too.

I'm very very keen on having the engine cover, ie the bit with the "T" logo and "VVTL-i" on it. I'm sure Ray could get his hands on one of these very easily.
There must be a spark plug cover or two on cars within easy reach of him too. If not, I'd happily pop down one day/weekend for measurements to be taken if that will help.

Me and my newly be-scooped loved one look something like this.

That's (obviously, I suppose) more or less the same as the weight difference between standard and titanium strut bars for the 350Z. The titanium ones weigh about a third of the standard ones. Nice, and although it's about the same as carbon ones, at least it gives a bit of choice.
-
Titanium pipework is very tasty indeed.
I know it's probably of limited appeal, but if you could manufacture a replacement induction pipe in titanium to go between a Blitz SUS filter and the throttle body of a Gen 7 190 (because the standard is, I think at the moment, just in black plastic), I know someone who is always on the look out for weight-saving bling, who would be very interested.
Or, alternatively, I'm sure said individual wouldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase a carbon fibre one.

But every marathon begins with a first step, and then followed by a second step . . .

surely the dressing panels on the gen7 are as light as they will ever be as they are made out of plastic?
I replaced the odd bit of engine plastic with carbon fibre on my previous car, and, although I didn't actually weigh them, the carbon bits certainly weren't much heavier, if at all.
My hope is that at most they will weigh the same, as well as obviously being a bit stronger, and looking a bit better. A winning combination.
ugly grey plastic though... oh and let's think for a second that these panels are being replaced to save weight, we'd be better off dumping the spare and carrying a can of tyre foam if it was for that.... it's about looking nicerAs I said abobe, it would be good to have both weight loss and improved looks.
As for the tyre foam in place of the spare, it's a good point. Although I know one or two people who've carried foam, but no pump.
I prefer the reassurance that if a tyre goes, my nice alloy isn't reliant on being kept off the ground by something out of a spray can. I'm all for saving weight, but to be honest carrying a proper spare (and no pump ) is a weight I'm happy to put up with. Weird, I know, but hey that's probably me.

I'm not sure if they're needed for the Gen 7, but, like dazols, I'll certainly be interested in some nice engine bling, ie the dressing panels. Particularly if you can make then lighter weight-wise.

That's great news about RT Performance. Great logo too.
Selfishly, can I put in a request for a cool Gen 7 cooling panel (if you'll pardon the tragic pun) to be developed when time allows. I tried to get a C-One one from one of my usual mod suppliers, but alas it was out of stock and they had no idea when they could get one in.

Yes, I've got an old bottle of Plast-RX that has worked well, but it is nearly ten years old and could probably do with replacing.
I'd recommend a polishing mop on the end of an electric drill to enable you to do more with less effort. Do put a couple of layers of masking tape around the edges though. It takes five minutes to do, but, as others know, it can save you heartache.
