  1. I know of them, but haven't been there. A couple of guys in work rave by them and have used them several times without issue. Last one being a V6 406 Coupe that they've made sound amazing (and sets off car alarms when you start it! :D) . Splinter wasn't as happy with their work, but i'm not sure of the circumstances around that one.

I've been meaning to head over there and see if they're any good, so can meet you at Cribbs on your way there if that's okay? I'll drop you a text next week.

    Yeah no probs buddy ;)

  2. I think the trick is to drive quietly past the 5-0.

I didn't think there was a set, hard and fast limit. I just thought it had to be in keeping when the car? So my classic rally car is allowed to make more noise than a corsa :D

That's pretty much what mr plod said he interpreted this literature to read, he went on with some waffle about scoobys having loud exhausts as standard so he leaves them alone!!

  3. Ok so I was pulled over tonight, I am the first one to admit my exhaust is far too loud but my question is, when I was chatting to the police man (real nice guy if I'm honest) he bought out a laminated sheet of some document or another that states

"an exhaust shall not be changed after the date of manufacture for an item that is louder or allows more exhaust gas to escape"

Does this sound right right? Seems a bit suspect to me?

I spent some time chatting to him and put it to him, "how do company's like powerflow and longlife get around this then?"

His answer baffles me "it's not illegal to sell after market exhaust systems just illegal to use them"

He kept telling me I would have to put a standard exhaust on to comply!! I am taking the car in next week to get it quietened down as much as possible so we will see if mr pc plod is happy with that?

    Any thoughts?

    Seth

  4. You need the copper washers as there the bit that will 'squash' to make the seal, don't be supprised if you go out in the morning andfind a puddle of fluid under each wheel

As far as wheel nuts go you should be fine for a short journey but fix it ASAP

  5. Thats funny Ultimatefw as a moggy 1000 was my first car lol bought at 15 and spent two years restoring it, what a fool i was as i sold it after just 3 months as it wasnt 'cool or fast enough' wish i had just kept it in storage somewhere as i would love to drive the old girl again. 459 JFO in dove gray :(
