Couple of weekends. Just have to prioritise what comes off first. And some good weather.
-
I'm sure they will be around for a bit. Have to strip my car first

Have you got fronts an rears for sale?
i have a full set of suspension. front wish bones and the 6 rear links
-
the rear long bolt's that go through the outer bushes can be a problem...bolt gets stuck.
that bolt was a bugger to get out. i had to completely remove both my corners and press them out with a flame on them
no worries, tbh the best value for money you can get is cw racings full kit, I know it looks expensive but you would end up paying more to do it yourself
and mine are painted nice
-
I always found it cheaper to just tax and mot my track car. Then I got a limited milage insurance policy with say 3000miles on so you can drive it to work the odd time so you can keep her nice and supple.
-
I have some updates to post up on this from some stuff I have been working on recently. Few new observations I have picked up.
-
Mine is due a rebuild. £800 for arms and fig 8's
And she's mint for another 80k

SS kicks ass performance wise

Can anyone create some vector line drawings of a gen 7 from a few angles please.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
-
Be a shame you do all the work to fix it and then can't drive it coz of a split line. Good luck. At least it's warmed up over the tast few days
-
Check that clutch line. Looks like it been bent badly.

But isn't where you're starting the flow of air from NOT where it would start if the spoiler was on a car as the roof would be there, I know the roof won't 'block' the air but it would definitely have an effect?
I completely agree and wouldn't argue otherwise. The study is what it is and if you read the first post I explain the study. This is the wing off outlet mans car that had little in front of it.
I could spend a few hundred hours modeling a gt4 and do a study with moving floor and rotating wheels but I don't think ccuk has a couple of grand for the priverlage. Plus I do have a living to earn.

I'm a time served machinist who worked my may into design but I have done as much as I can. The pinical on the projects if been involved in was a full aero development project on our radical sr9. The experience then led me into all other areas. Engineering cars etc.

so with the 20mm tall gurney removed the downforce goes down to 320N and 43Ndrag... Ratio of 7.4 so even with the gurney removed you actually have an more efficient wing so less of the cars BHP is going into overcoming drag and is going into speed. so it has 32% less down force but has 53%less drag.
so here are the screen shots from the wing with no gurney to have something to compare to
-
yes i do but have my own ways but you dont need to fix anything for this sort of simulation... its just an object in space with air blowing over it. i wasnt using ansys for this wing study eitherway.
-
if i wanted to see if the wing supports can sustain the loads placed on them by the wings downforce and drag then yes i would have to bare this in mind.
im feeling a bit of FEA coming up next lol
-
no the whole model is a single solid. im not measuring mechanical stress or strength so no need to do anything otherwise

my next simulation is to remove the gurney flap from craigs wing assy... this will give an impression of how efficient the gurney is and if it is a good 'on the spot' mod to give some downforce at the track.
-
I could have a look but I cannot do anything vehicle specific. Unless someone is going to pay me I cannot spend weeks modeling a specific vehicle. I can draw a generic saloon/coupe shape blob to do some studies with.
-
yeah im no sure whats going on there... could be a glitch in my simulation but there could be a reason also

So there are the pictures of craigs end plates
