  1. Well as above.

Do to some delving in at Toyota my car clocked up a massive 37k in the 1st 18months of ownership, then in 2003 the car came into toyota with 220k on it then it had clock replacement from toyota the clock reading 0 miles then from then it has clocked up 140k yes UNBELIEVEABLE but all documented service history from toyota to back it up so in total the car has done 360k and still going strong. the chef tech from toyota who has worked there for years has said to me dont worry about it its just bedded in.

What do you thick guys and girls?

  2. Friend of mine has a TT and had problems with battery running flat over a few weeks of not being used.

Anyhow I thought of investing in one for the Celica but with the TT it can plug directly into the cig socket as it is constantly feeding 12v with the key out. but the Celica no power through the cig socket only with the key switched on.

Is there some way or wether someone has converted the cig socket to run all the time like some other makes?

  3. Yes the MOT station was 15 miles from me and as I have done with all my other toyota's I gave it a good blast but it still took ages for it to drop.

If you think about it the emissions when driving the car round normally would be off the scale.

Even the testers Lexus Is200 is a right sod to get throught emissions test.

Seems to be the same with all the old Toyota's with emissions test!

  4. Well not what some people might think!

After alot of hard work and alot of doubts pre MOT that the Tropicana wont pass MOT it has done it.

Despite it all it got 2 advisories

1, Number plate deterioration but not likely to be misread

2, A small chip on the windscreen.

The emissions were appaling, the HC were reading the max 0.200 so only just passed it took nearly 20 mins for it to drop from over 750.

Question what can I do apart from petrol treatment and a engine oil flush and change to get the HC lower?

I know it might seem silly posting this about MOT but the car has had bucket loads of time and money spent on it and as some of you will know you start to loose faith after a while.

  5. Was just wondering

I was having a chat with a fellow club member today and he had the rev3 engine in his Gen6 and I have the Rev2, and noticed that it had extra vacume advanced on the front of the engine. is the rev3 better to drive and what are the differences to mine?
